About a week ago my gas station was out of 93 octane, which i usually use in my 2003 s-type, so I put in an octane booster and filled up with 91 octane.  about three days after my fill up, the car started lurching forward whenever the car changed gears.  it also happens when i slow down and the car changes gears.  Should I just let all the gas/octane booster run out before refilling or should i do something else to counteract this problem...HELP.  The jerking of the jag is driving me crazy and giving me whiplash.

Drive it slow and waste your gas!  Then refill with  Ultimate!

thanx big dream, I'm just praying that it is the octane booster and not a problem with the transmission.

Hopefully it is, but there really is no cheap or easy way to find out if it is the tranny unless you take it to a shop.  For that, you can just wait and see if it's the gas!

You can probably just keep topping off your fuel for a day or two....

Well, I've let the fuel go to one mile left and put in 1/4 of a tank and still it jumps.  I have an appointment at the dealer service tomorrow, lets see what they say.  Its still under warrranty, so hopefully I wont have to prostitute my wife to pay for repairs.

I don't think it's a fuel issue myself...sounds like your RPM's may be too high..or your ECU may have to be re-flashed....a common problem....

But, either way let us know...

It can't be the fuel. My Jag manual states the engine requires fuel of 91-premium.
