I truely enjoy my Jag-XF, but get disapointed when these "issues" get in the way....Just wanted to share some of the issues to date.

Here is a list of all repairs since March 2008 delivery:

1.     Apr-08 (1 day) [660 miles]

a.      Sun roof motor - not successful -(waited 3 weeks for parts)

b.     Program DRL - successful (this should have been done pre-delivery)

c.      Fuel Door jammed - successful (but tech sprayed lubricant all over my fender)

d.     Park Aid Switch not working - not successful

2.     May-06 (1 day) [1075 miles]

a.      Park Aid Switch – successful (2nd request) – (loose wires)

b.     Sun roof motor - successful -(replaced motor)

3.     May-22 (1 day) [1296 miles]

a.      Check Engine Light – successful (replace air injection valve)

b.     Door rattle – successful (adjust right door striker)

4.     July 29 (2 days) [2776 miles]

a.      Wiper Motor will not shut off – successful (replacement motor - car held over night)

b.     Front Door Speakers – static and not working – successful (fix electrical short in door)

I hope this is the last of it.  I truely do love this car...

I do appreciate your taking some time to post your issues w/ your ride and what''s even nicer is that you bought a car as a new and despite some problems you love your car .
I hope your ride never lets you down as well

Wow! Bad luck!

So far I''m at 3-months, 1600 miles, and no real problems.. My biggest issue is the global-close not working on one of the rear windows.. also, it would not start 2-times without doing an engine-reset (according to the manual).. neither of these things really have me concerned..

Actually, those on the list are very minor..although I agree annoying with the pit stops to the dealer..But still nothing very serious..

I hope that is all of the problems..I''m looking seriously at them next year.

Sunroof misaligned by about 1/4 inch at the right rear corner. The dealer took two tries to get the adjustment to my liking.

Factory recall for rear seatbelt D rings was done. My car was checked and did not have the fault.

The plastic blanking plug was missing from the emergency access trunk lock on delivery, replaced in five minutes by the salesman ( I am really stretching for faults here).

Shop overfilled the sump by one liter on the first oil change.

Ummmm, the car gets dirty and I have to wash it as it is not self washing....

Ummm, it uses more fuel than my four cylinder cars......

Ummmm......

Have I mentioned how great this car is? It goes, handles, steers and stops brilliantly. The ride is just about perfect even without the CATS, a little firm for a Jaguar but about the same as my X Type Sport. The interior and exterior styling are top in the class and top i some more expensive classes as well.

I only have 5,000 miles on my four month old XF (8,000 km) and I love the darned thing already.

I would love to get an XF but reliability is definitely a concern.  This thread makes me a little nervous.

You are kidding, right? The XF has displayed anvil like reliability since its release. Jaguar is enjoying JD Power ratings equal to or better than Lexus, the previous top dog.

Jaguar is building a very good car in the XF with tried and true mechanicals dating back many years but brought up to the minute. You have a reliable V8 prodcuing some of the best power available in the class of car, the suspension is aluminum from the new XK, the floorpan and basic chassis are developed from the S type which has been built for a decade.

you forgot the instrument pack reflash for turn signal and seat belt reminder being too loud and blowing the speaker. or the new diff replacement TSB for contaminated fluid. but yes all in all its a great car and issues seem to be few and far between and not crammed into any one customers car....
