2002 X-type sterio question

Hello all. Im new to jaguar and this site, so please bear with me...
I bought a 2002 2.5 X-type froma local car dealer near me. Im hooked on jag's now, but have some problems/questions and thought maybe you can help.

Problem 1: I cant find a power chip, power commander or any horsepower units for my car.

Any ideas where i can get aftermarket upgrade parts for more horsepower?

Problem 2: I have the cd/nav unit/heat with the touch screen, and want to put in an
aftermarket radio. I cant find a mounting kit, or wire harness anywhere. took the
car to 3 different car audio stores by me and 2 said it cant be done, the other said
it would be custom and cant guarentee he wouldnt blow out my cars computer.
I dont care if i loose the nev unit(never use it anyway) and can use the manual
heat controls.

Anyone know where i can get the radio installation wire and mounting kits? Has anyone else done an aftermarket radio upgrade? If so can you please let me know what you did so I can try to do it.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Frank

So you are wanting to loose the Nav unit and put in an aftermarket radio? It can be done but you will have to buy the heat/AC controls for the normal jags and then get a facia plate for aftermarket radio. Eaby sells the ac/heater control just look under jag, either radio or ac controls. I ordered my fascia plate off of www.installer.com part # 99-9500. I got the wiring kit from ebay using a search for part number PC2-81-4, you can do it in google too. You may also need the antenna adapter part number PC5-100 or look up Hirschmann antenna adapter to motorola. There is also a steering wheel adapter if you want to use the steering wheel controls, search for part number PC99-X47. Hope this helps. I am in the process of putting in an aftermarket nav unit and it took me weeks to find everything. This site, www.nexxia.co.uk, has everything but it cost about $200 to get it from them. I spent less than half that by piecing it together.

Do you know if you would be able to modify that single din fascia from installer.com to be a double din?

Yes you can. I am doing it now. My unit is double din as well. Just need a good knife to cut through the plastic part going across and then trim it to look nice.

You may want to throw that stock unit on ebay... They pull a VERY good price. You'll probably pay yourself back a good portion for the money you spent on the aftermarket stuff.
