Radio Shows " NO MW "

Just to confirm straightaway - this radio did work normally before the new battery was fitted?
If so, it could have lost the 'World Region' setting.
I've set this up on other early '90's Jaguar models although not specifically on the XJS but would be surprised if the procedure differs from other models.
1. power ON the Radio
2. hold down the Cassette EJECT button
3. still holding down the EJECT button, press the AM/FM button
4. the Radio display should now read "Europe"
5. if not, using the number pad, cycle through the different World Regions using the 0 button. The Regions are Aust, Europe, Japan and US
6. press the 0 button until "Europe" is shown in the Radio display
7. select "Europe" by pressing the AM/FM button
The Radio will now be set to European programming.

Thanks Graham, I just bought the car which had the battery already fitted but the radio showing that it needed a code, the code info was not in the wallet so i paid to retreive it via the VIN number, when entered the code request went and the NO MW appeared and as the owner has passed away i cant ask him anything.
I tried that sequence from a post of yours but it did not work, maybe i done it wrong, I will give it another go.
cheers for now
