I cant find a new wheel rim for a XJR 2001 :-(
Hi all,
Recently I had the unpleasant experience of hitting some debri on the motorway at 110km/h. It has severely bent the rim of 2001 XJR "Asteroid" wheel and scared the bejesus out of me. I'm not scared any more, but am a little depressed that I can't get it repaired (according to two wheel rim repairers) or find a replacement in Australia. If anyone knows any good parts suppliers/wreckers that may be worth trying I'd appreciate it. I've tried a few places, Cat House Spares, Jag Daim and Jag Prestige with no luck. If you know of any other places worth a try - I'd appreciate a PM or reply to this thread immensely :-) This is what they look like, if you're not familiar with the wheel type. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...49c55b5f9c.jpg Regards, Troy. |
Troy, sorry to hear about your wheel problem....glad your ok. I'll do some research and get back to you. |
Have you tried Triumph Rover Spares in Adelaide?

If you're desperate you might have some luck contacting this seller in the US to see if they will ship the wheel via the global shipping program. It's not in the best shape, it might end up being an expensive exercise but if you don't have any other option.....

Troy, it would be nice if you acknowledged people's efforts trying to help!

Hey Jim,
I'm sorry, yes, you're correct - I do appreciate everyone's help and comments. For some reason I don't always seem to be notified of new comments on my threads :icon_cry: I was able to get my existing wheel rim repaired! These guys were amazing: https://cncwheels.com.au They repair my wheel rim for AUD$200 and most of their work seems to be with luxury performance vehicles. |
Great to know Troy...hope it helps someone else!.....thanks for getting back.
