Buying a personal import vehicle
Hi All, I am looking at purchasing an S Type 2000 imported by the original owner from the UK when he immigrated to Australia. It is currently registered in NSW & has a current roadworthy certificate.
Is there any special paperwork I need the seller to provide me when I purchase the vehicle like original import paperwork etc. thanks

I don't believe so, but check with Qld Transport.
As long as the vehicle has its personal import sticker attached there should be no problem.
From what I understand, there is no restriction on selling a vehicle that has been imported under that scheme.
Only issue might be that what passed compliance in NSW may not be compliant in QLD as I believe QLD is a bit stricter usually.
The only mod I needed to do on import was to install ADR compliant child restraint anchorages (even though I never intend to use them). Maybe check the vehicle has them already.
