give away gearbox
Hey,
I have a Automatic transmission from my series 1. works fine but i dont need it anymore.
I am happy for someone to take it, these old cars are getting harder to find and if possible i would like to help keep one on the road rather than throw out parts.
Located in brisbane.
Its in the for sale section for $100 and a high five, no bites there, thought i would offer it for free here first.

Glenn, the numbers don't mean anything to me. Never had my trans out of the car.
I will get a couple of the guys to have a look at your picture.
Tomorrow I will look at the BW66's I have and see what numbers they have.
Edit, just had a look at the BW66's, the the pipes to cooler come out just below the ID tag on them so I'm guessing it is not a model 66.
I have sent Grant Francis & Doug a PM to have a look at your pics.

Might be a BW8, but that is a pure guess.
If its a cast iron main case its a BW12 or similar, the 65/66 were alloy?, and NO vac modulator, using cable for kickdown.
Glenn, I have searched the numbers on the tag and all I can find is that it is Borg Warner, but can not find any mention of a BW12.
Looking at the pictures I have I suspect Grant is right, the model 8 has the shorter body and the model 12 is longer.
EDIT:
BW-8 from 1967-up. The BW-12 was used 1973-74
It all points toward it being a BW-8, in that case it is no use to me.
Thanks for the offer Glenn, I hope you find a home for it.
