Another newbie saying hi

G'day everyone, I just thought I'd say Hi as I'm new to the Jag forums, although I've been driving Jags since the late eighties.

I've got the same surname as you Grant, how 'bout that, eh? I doubt if we're related though, since I started life as a Pom. I've only been an Ausie for forty-odd years.

I live in the Modbury area. Only got my X308 a few months ago, but I've got to say - I love it! I think I'll happily drive "Mr. Muscles" for the rest of my days. With luck it might even be a vintage model by then. :)

My previous conveyance was an XJ40, a sadly underpowered machine if ever I drove one (for a Jaguar that is). I think that model is best suited to old ladies - whereas I'm an old bloke and that makes all the difference! :)

Welcome Dave.

A 308R, NICE.

My mob hail from Wilcannia, Mannum, then further back to Germany, Ireland, England.

We hail at Burton.

I agree with the '40. It had to be rung out at any oportunity to get any sort of mumbo out of it. The daugter had a 3.6, and managed to get evey single ounce of oomph out of it, and she could not kill it, so maybe not so bad.

Welcome Dave . . . great to have you join us

Hello Dave from Modbury;

Sweet drive the X308 . . . and a great solution after your "underpowered" XJ40 Jag . . . you smart dog, you! But then, Grant and some of your fellow South Oz members have also knocked around with the big V12s too . . . can't speak for all of them, but those I had were not what you would call "lazy". Sturt Highway, then across the Hay Plains, was sheer pleasure in "the big fellas"

So, welcome along Dave, from your neighbours to the east. We all tend to keep in touch around the various Australian regional sections . . . share stories, help out where possible with local advice. Join in.
Best wishes, :icon_beerchug:
Ken
