Default Run #2 - 2018

Greetings

Thinking of a run in August, into the teeth of a Melbourne winter.

Been thinking of places north central-ish to equalise the driving a bit, but I got nothing except Fowles Winery on the Hume at Avenel.

Mikey when you have visibility of your August schedule can you advise a couple preferred days for you and Sofie? you guys have the most issues with weekends.

Expressions of interest welcome, as are alternate venue suggestions if you would like more variety. New faces always welcome.

Thanks for setting the wheels in motion, for another run, I have confirmed with the boss, the weekends of the 11th and 25th are our preference.

Winter day out sounds good. Either of the weekends approved by Mikey's boss are fine with us. Another possible could be Tahbilk Winery (historic / characterful etc.). Or, maybe somewhere in the Lancefield region, but not sure of venues...

I found out today that we will be in Sin City on the 11th for an annual get together my wife has with her high school (an odd event where they actually turned into older people that like one another)

So pencil in the 25th Mike and we will run with that date whever we are going.

Oh good suggestion! decent bistro style place , nice outlook, interesting old winery to gawk at plus tastings. A little further north but very often the weather there is quite good when it is grey in Melbourne.

Lets do that, I will make a booking for Aug 25 unless we get protest about Saturday.

Fantastic, Tahbilk it is then . Time to write down a short list of Jag "jobs" that need doing beforehand. Also plenty of time for Tony to pick up a new Cat beforehand.

I’m surprised we haven’t seen any more takers for this run. I’ve seen 3 other MK2s in the Gisborne to Kyneton area recently (a white one a Maroon one and a Black one.)
Come on guys. Get involved.

For the run on the 25th

If the city slickers in Melbourne would like, we can meet up for coffee at a cafe in Yea then move on to Tahbilk for lunch.

Suggest Mannfest Cafe in Yea, at the western (Shell servo) end of Yea. Mannfest Cafe
There is usually plenty of parking in the centre island reserve right out front. We use this place sometimes for our local car club runs.

We will be there from about 10:30AM. Ken and Linda , we assume you will meet us at Tahbilk unless you are desperate for a coffee fix.

Looking forward to catching up.

Cheers, Steve and Sandra

Likewise, we'll be there with knobs on. Still sans Jag sadly...(yes, I know, I get it, park the Jeep round the back..)

Forgot to say , for Ken and Linda , that the booking is for 1PM if you are going there directly.

If you havent been there before it is an interesting old winery to walk around and have a geek/tasting at. The cafe is seperate down by the river (with the brown snakes in summer)

I will work on some mystery tour routing so it takes 90 minutes to do the 60 minute drive from Yea.

We'll meet you guys at the winery.
I've been to Tabilk once but it would be at least 25 years ago so it will be interesting to have a wander around and see how its changed.

Great to catch with you all today and see everyone well and happy.

Apologies to Mike and Sofi for my mis navigation. Blind luck was on our side to arrive realtively on time :-)

We snagged a bit of a golden day given the recent week or so of winter. Looking forward to seeing some of Sofi's photos.

Apparently Dec 1 is the target date for the next one (as advised by the female end of the table)
