Track Day - any interest
I am in the early stages of organising a track day with my local club. If forum members would like to be included please let me know. Below is a cut and paste from a summary info email I sent last week to club members that expressed interest.
"Track days at Winton are generally on Fridays. They provide an opportunity for people to prepare for weekend events or just to general test and tuning. I am looking for days that precede small events or club day weekends, so we are likely to have less traffic. Currently that looks like July 21, September 8 or 29.
Basic cost for the day are $160 or $150 if you book online.
Gates open 7:30AM > 6PM Track from 9AM > 4:30 PM
Cars are segregated by type/performance in 20 minute sessions
You will also need a track licence to participate. This is available online at cost of $75 for track day (non racing) driving. The licence is valid for 12 months. If you already have a CAMS L2S or higher already that meets the requirement.
Safety items. You need a helmet that meets basic standard AS1698 minimum. Clothing needs to be neck to ankle and wrists , cotton or wool, no nylon. Everything loose should be removed from the cabin.
Carports are available at the track at no cost. Garages are available for an extra $50. Depending on arrangements on the day, I am think maybe the group could share the cost of a garage to leave "stuff" you may not want to cart around the track (tools, fluids, pumps, spare tyres, jacks etc)"
