Almost Victorian
Hi all,
just introducing myself.
Although my address is in NSW, we a situated very close to The Victorian border so much of my interaction is with Melbourne rather than Sydney. I certainly use Jagdaim in Melbourne.
i am a long time British car owner and have just acquired a Series II Daimler Double Six (not yet arrived).
I hope to be assisted by fellow members in my work on this slightly daunting carriage.
regards all

I'm in Melbourne and decided to become a Jaguar owner after spending some time travelling in the UK last year and borrowing a couple from friends.I'm an expat who grew up in the UK with MG and Triumphs, through I did have a Porsche for a bit. I had a Triumph here but it became a bit difficult to look after, so the Jaguar is my reconnection with English sports cars.
I had a couple of issues with the car, and so I've used the forums to find an ODB reader (best 15 bucks I have ever spent) and to narrow down a fault that turned out to be a hose leak. I also used the forums to find a recommended mechanic - although they are on the opposite side of Melbourne to me, my car is now very well loved after visiting Matts Automotive in Kilsyth. I couldn't be happier with their service (and they have a really cute dog).

G'day from Ferntree Gully
Gday all, Scratcha from Ferntree gully, I am caretaker of an 82, 4.2 Van den Plas, It belongs to my wife's uncle, we had borrowed it a couple of times and Id always referred to it as my Jag.
He has sold his house with the big garage and asked if I could look after it for him.
It'd not been driven for 3 years and the old girl idles terribly, I suspect temperature sensor telling ECU its too cold.
We also farm cattle in Bonnie doon Vic and as a result, my other toy is a 74' Mercedes 1418 tray truck
Any way, I hope to see you about the place

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and a proud new owner of my first Jag. Its a 2003 X type 2.1 V6 FWD, and I love it. Though I am having trouble thinking of a name for her.
Yes I know, but I name all my cars and this one is special.
I'll be needing a good mechanic soon to service her and give her the once over. Though I think she's in good nick as the previous owner was an older lady (very nice she is too), who serviced the car and looked after her. Though she didn't have the owners manual, any help?
I'm in the Mornington, Frankston area of Vic, so if you can recommend someone that would be great.
Thanks,
Mike

Cant help with the service thing. The place I use is in Ringwood at the other end of Eastlink.
If you see a run come up in the VIC Tas forum please feel welcome to come along. We have a small group of regulars who are all pretty relaxed and welcoming. New faces always welcome.
Cheers, Steve

My better half would love a meet and chat, I'd love to look at the cars, hahaha.
How often do you have runs?
Cheers Mike.

Firstly Hi to Scratcha from FTG, upthread a little. I missed that arrival. We used to live in FTG but moved out to the Alexandra region.
Mike367, the shop is Graham Ratcliffe Motors, in Eugene Terrace. Very competent honest shop in my experience.
Runs usually happen about 3 times a year , there is no real plan/formality to it. When we last spoke I think Mike and Sophie (MikeyB10 on here) where going to reactivate a run up to Castlemaine that didnt happen last year as it got pushed up against everyone Christmas rush. You would be most welcome , its a pretty easy going group and there is certainly lots of chat to be had. Just keep an eye out on the VIC/TAS forum (subscribing to it is the easiest way then you get an email when something pops up)

First Jaguar
Hi all,
Having been a classic Mercedes owner (1980 450SLC) for near on ten years, decided to try something a bit more modern - enter the XKR.. First drive scared the hell out of me. (old daily drive was a diesel 1.5 litre turbo). The Merc now sits in the drive with the XKR in the garage. Only problem is my wife has the keys.. (or is it transponder?) and having problems getting them off her . BTW anyone want to by a Merc?
cheers

New
Hi new to thread - just got an 1995 x300 xj6 Daimler. Still working on getting her purring. Anyway I have a question about fuel trim. I have an obd2 which shows LTFT and STFT for 4 banks. I only have 2 o2 sensors so does anyone know which LT and ST are active? I would have assumed that banks 1 and 2 would be the real values but what is the OBD reading to gain LT and ST in bans 3 and 4? All 4 values seem to be changing so makes it a bit difficult to diagnose? Thanks Matt
