VERY dry dash cover and surrounding area
 
Hey all! I just bought my 4th Jag... a 1973 XJ6. She is in need of some work, obviously and one thing I know nothing about is interior care.

So, here is the issue. Her dash cover isn't cracked but VERY dry. Once I wipe it down with armor all, it gets a nice shine for about a minute. Then turns to the same dry and brittle look. So, I am looking for a fix. How can I return that vinyl looking cover to something more easy on the eyes??

Also, what should I do with the cracked vanish on the dash itself? get it redone professionally or can a complete novice like myself refinish it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Armor All, Mother's, and many other companies make a product to revitalize faded plastic parts (both interior and exterior). It usually comes in a kit with a cleaning material and the actual restoration product. It's about $20 and I've seen it at WalMart and Auto Parts Stores.
