Can anyone tell me what color should the small grille in the back center of the bonnet by the windshield be? My 1972 E-type OTS is light blue and the grille is black. Car is getting a full respray so I want to make sure this little item is corrected.

I believe It should be chrome plated like the series 1 & 2 cars. I'm 99% sure of it. You could go to one of the big part suppliers website and see if the series III and series II use the same part.

I did got and check S & G Barrat website and Series II and Series III use the same part.

 

SNG is showing the rear bonnet grille BD35935 no longer available. I guess I'll get mine chromed.

You may want to check XK unlimited too.

 

The correct color is matt silver.

 

IRGRIDLEY is correct. NHTSA demanded no bright work in front of the driver's view. No more polished steering wheels, chrome squirters and so on.
