Help - Window bits and pieces

2 Attachment(s)
Hi everybody,

Need some help please to identify some parts needed. Spent hours looking at catalogues and even the SNG boys suggested the forums.

Not too many E-types in this part of the world to go have a look, so hoping your collective wisdom will sort me out.

The parts in question sits between the door window (outside) and the door casing. My car is a very early S2 2+2.

As a picture speaks a 1000 words I have included 2 snaps.

I "think" I need the seal BD21073/4 but do you know if I need something else. SNG thought not, but I can't imagine the seal sits on those notches??

Therefore - Help !

Thanks much guys !

Stephan

The only thing you need is the rubber "scraper" (seal)...On Roadsters, the trim comes off to help with the installation, butit looks like the "tabs" catch the edge of the seal, when you push it into place....
Don't try winding the windows down with the new seal, until you wet the window, or it will curl the new seal, and jam the window....
Once installed, using Rain X on the clean window will help, but only time will allow the window to come down freely.

Thanks Mr. Barry,
Scraper seals are now on order!
I am still intrigued by how those 5 notches/tabs spaced 4 inches apart will hold a flimsy seal, but we will see I guess. I will duly report back once in place.
Greetings from Czech !

The seal has a metal backbone...If it is correct for your car, it should pop right in...You may have to trim the ends, as most of the seals are slightly oversize....
Be careful if you do trim, so that the same amount comes off each end, and you don't leave a big gap at one end.
