interior and dash lights
Im new here and found this forum looking for help I'm currently putting my fathering laws series 3 E type back together and for some reason we cant get the dash lights, interior light to work
there isnt much left to do just a few small issues this being one of them https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...116c83bda.jpeg This is her I have checked the wiring and the fuses and they all look ok i wondered if im missing anything like a relay perhaps If anyone can put me on the right direction i would really appreciate it Thanks in advance |
It might be time to get out the voltmeter and figure out where the power "isn't". Also, I think there are two rockers needed to get the interior lights to turn on. The headlight rocker and the one beside it.

Thank you, Grant, Doug and Jeff. I would never have figured out the cigar lighter. I do remember unplugging a little open-faced light when I took the dash pad off, didn't wonder how it worked at the time. Onward and upward.

the white round object hanging from wiring is the rear half of an ignition switch.

There is a resistor on the inside of the dash panel - it's in a small can; looks a bit like a relay. If that is gone I think the lights won't come on.
As Alfred said, time to trace back w/ a voltmeter. Oh - and some ba$tard stuck some sort of a sticker on the nose of your car. :D |

I'm sorry, LT. The "sticker" comment was supposed to be a joke about the front license plate. Obviously the joke wasn't. My bad. Happens all the time w/ me.

Why has no one suggested cleaning the ground connections?
