Original color and finish

Hi all, as mentioned in a previous post I have just started the restoration process on my 68 FHC. The car when finished will be a driver as it was before I parked it for two decades. To me driver means a car that is safer, more reliable, more comfortable, and to some degree more up to date. In order to achieve this some of the car’s systems will receive some kind of upgrade such as: Upgrade brakes to SII, Alternator, starter, XJ6 head, and possibly, if the wallet allows, a 5 speed gearbox. All these upgrades are relatively easy to return to original and I will be keeping all the original parts. However, all this being said, I do want to restore the car to as original possible so if a subsequent owner wants to return it to 100% original it can be done. I will be keeping the original exterior color and interior. Brake system and suspension. My question is this: Is there a concours book or guide that specifies the color and finish for suspension parts, radiators, brackets, hardware (Zink or cadmium finish), mud shields, etc…?Thanks,

The best information I've seen on that level of detail is JCNA's Concours Judge's Guides. These PDF documents are JCNA copyright so I won't attach them here but you can find them by Googling "xke + jcna concours guidelines".
