Default British Car Meeting - 26th August 2012 - Switzerland

Late notice but anyone interested in going to the British Car Meeting on 26th August in Mollis Switzerland?

Nächstes BCM - British Car Meeting, Mollis - Switzerland

Google Translated to English - Next British Car Meeting, Mollis Switzerland

This years special guests are JDCS - Jaguar Drivers' Club Switzerland

I wanted to go last year but I was in Australia, and this year will be tough with a newborn at home, if one or two other forum members would be interested, then i can make the effort.

I'll be sending you Swiss & Liechtensteiners PMs!

If you turn up in a British car you can park in the entrants area!

Count me in! I'll represent Liechtenstein with my XKR.

My wife even said she wants to join. I doubt it would be the case if it was a meeting for Japanese car owners.

Good stuff azeteg!

There might be three cars so far then (another XKR owner I know might come along).

Will update the week before, hopefully some others might get the message in the meantime...

We can workout where/when to meet on the way closer to the date.

You'd be the closest to Mollis, it isn't that far from you anyhow!

Hello,

Is this the Mollis next to Glarus Nord?

What's the format? My German is extremely weak so would struggle if there are big speeches and complex parking instructions. :-(

It is only 45min from me though.

Yes in Kanton Glarus.

It's just a show, you won't have to sit through hours of speeches. And i've found that just about all British Car Enthusiasts in Switzerland speak pretty good English, you'll be fine & in the worst case i'll translate for you.

I'll be driving down from Schaffhausen, hopefully with Swissjag in tow, so we can meet you somewhere on the way. I guess we'll meet azeteg outside the show since he is so close by.

Being of Swedish origin, I'm also more comfortable with english than german. Mollis is just about 40 minutes from my place, so meeting up at the show is a good idea.

By the way, my name is Martin, I'm 34 years old and have been living in Liechtenstein for about a year, previously moving from Sweden to Austria in 2008. Got the Jag in May this year. Nice to meet you all

That'll be nice. I'm happy to convoy or just meet there.

From Erlenbach, I'll jump on the Forchstrasse and catch the 53 at Rüti. I don't know if you'll share any of this route?

Oh, I'm 24, so possibly will be the youngest attendee? Unless people bring family of course.

Ah east side of the Zürisee...I would have gone the other side on the 3, but i'm happy to go via the Forschstrasse, haven't heard back from Swissjag so I don't know if i'm on my own or the two of us coming down, hard to say right now.

Let's check in again on Friday morning?

Could always get the ferry accross to Horgen if that's quicker/easier.

Yes, I'm fine to play it by ear.

Unfortunately it looks like the weather will be terrible on sunday. Anyway, what time do you guys want to be there?

My Skype name, if you would like to synchronize there, is "azeteg".

Yeah I checked the weather report again this morning, not terrible but not great eiher, it depends on which site you look at, couple of them say it will rain in the morning but clear up before lunchtime.

I'm still gonna go, after all the effort to get this day organised only a hailstorm will stop me...

My mate Thomas might be coming along with his X350 XJD too. Didn't hear back from Swissjag yet i'll send him an email, he did say he was travelling and also had visitors...

The show is advertised to run from 09:30 to 16:00.

Martin what do you think, if we meet you outside the gate at 10:30? That way we might miss the early morning rain?

Thomas is driving from Germany and he's not one for early starts...it will take us about 1 hour to get from Schaffhausen to Horgen.

Richard would it be OK if you got the Ferry from Meilen & we meet you at the Horgen Ferry Terminal at 09:30?

I will PM you both my mobile number.

Yes, it's been rather dirty rain lately. Can imagine most of the cars will be filthy.

Anyway, no idea it was that early, I'll have to set an alarm. Yes, perfectly happy to start the convoy in Horgen.

I'm ok with any time really, as long as it is not too early, I'm attending a birthday party tonight...

Tomorrow my schedule is cleared for the car show, although I have to move on to some barbecue event in Hurden (middle of Zurisee) a bit later.

Haven't heard back from Swissjag yet so I guess we can count him out.

Just got off the phone with Thomas he's bringing his XJD so that makes four jags for the team tomorrow.

Looking forward to this, the weather forecast has improved too.

Richard can we meet at the http://www.a3stopandgo.ch/ which is Zugerstrasse 231 in Horgen.
It's right next to the A3 motorway, and I just had a look there is nowhere practical to meet near the Ferry.

9.30 in Horgen and then 10.30 outside the gate in Mollis

What a great day out! The meeting was huge must have been >1000 cars on the airfield. Totally surpised. Really nice to meet Richard & Martin. Cheers fellas!

Left to right; Thomas' XJD, Richard's XJR100, my XJR, Martin's XKR, hows that for a backdrop!

Not sure what the 75 year thing is, that anniversay already passed???

Lucky we got there early, by lunchtime the row of jags went all the way down to the end of the strip in this photo.

A "modified" XJR100 with $28K asking price...

Don't know what happened to this XJS but I think the owner overheard us say how terrible it looked...oooops...

Fantastic XKSS replica!

And an awesome C-Type replica! (or is it a full restoration?)

Another X308 XJR, there must have been 5 or 6 of them today, funny enough only the one X350 XJR...

Aston's a plenty!

Last edited by Cambo; 10-19-2012 at 02:59 AM. Reason: XKSS is a replica

Blower Bentley?

A "Lightweight E-Type" with a pricetag in 7-figures?

Arden Bi-Turbo XJ40, as in IT'S GOT TWO TURBOS!!!

Trying to fix Martin's airbag light, couldn't talk to it since the X100 is too old....

Three, Black, Supercharged Jags, in Switzerland. azeteg, Cambo & Dickie!

I liked the XJS Shooting Brake. :-(

Thanks for the pictures. Good to have some that aren't from a phone.

I put together this:

Nothing special, more of a dynamic slideshow.

Looking forward to the next one.
