Jaguar XJ8 VdP - importing from US to Denmark

We have bought our Jaguar in the US and our great problem is how to get a datasheet/EU approvels -CE - for this car. Does anyone have a solution.

Soeren,

I've moved you question from Jaguarforums Merchandise to Europe Region forum.

A few members have imported Jaguars from US to either UK or mainland Europe and this is the best section to get advice on the regulations.

I recall from reading a number of posts that obtaining European Type Approval isn't easy!

Hi Soeren,

I've been through import hoops twice now with my XJR.

From what i understand you could have some problems with a US-spec car to an EU country.

The document you need to make the import painless is a European Certificate of Conformance which Jaguar HQ in Coventry can provide for £100. However...so far I never heard of anyone getting an EU CoC for a US-spec car.

I don't know the laws in Denmark (I used to live in Switzerland) but you need to look at this along the lines of importing a US built/delivered car to Denmark. Say for example a new Ford Mustang.

Best thing you can do is get in touch with a local company that imports these American cars to Denmark, they will be the best source of help.

Also have a look at the other threads here in Europe section regarding a US car to France https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/e...-france-79182/ I would expect similar difficulties for Denmark
