Not sure what time Davey will arrive, probably also around midday Friday.

My mate Thomas will arrive early Saturday morning, he won't be coming with me on Friday from here.

I want to get a ride in a Ring Taxi, so maybe do that Friday afternoon or Saturday morning?

The weather looks pretty unstable for the weekend - I just talked to the rental company, and they say saturday looks more uncertain than sunday. Saturday there is a 20% chance for rain or snow(!). Sunday looks better with some sunny weather. It is also pretty cold at the moment, around 0 degrees.

I have decided to postpone my booking of a car until tomorrow afternoon, when we should know more about weather. Postponing the track driving to sunday morning might really be an option for me.

If anyone still would like to share a rental car for a day, I'm still up for it. This way we can save a few hundred euros compared to renting half-days.

I'm currently looking at renting either:

VW Scirocco Cup+ 220PS, 1/2 day 599, Full day 949
VW Polo GTI DSG 180PS, 1/2 day 549, Full day 849

 

Have a blast guys, remember lots of pictures, video, coffee mugs and stuff for those of us who can't get down there.

This is the dopey tourist in the rent-a-racecar that nearly finished me today. ***** held me up for 3 or 4 corners, completely blocked me, & when I had a bit of a straight to power past him the M5 Ring Taxi nearly took me out. That's when I decided to go home...

Track opening was delayed on sunday morning, so I didn't get time to do all laps that I wanted. Reason for delay: Someone had painted a massive dick on the track! Would not want to be sideways at 150km/h over fresh paint...

 

Yep, that was the first delay on Sunday. But then after they finally got it open there was a collision on the track between a Nissan GTR and a BMW M-something. The GTR driver tried to do a runner, so they locked down the track & the police came. So it was closed for another hour or so. In the end we just ran out of time...

Was nice to cruise home on the Autobahn behind the XKR. From a certain distance it really looks like an E-Type convertible. Very cool.

Such a great weekend. I'm so glad we went. Thanks to everyone for coming along.

I've just managed to get videos off mine & Thomas' phones (stupid XP won't transfer a file bigger than 500mb off a camera) so I need some time to splice them back together & upload them.

I know Davey has some videos from his laps as well, but it might take hime some time to get it sorted. Yannick had some more on his phone too, but had the same problem to download the big files.

I actually wasn't that nervous in the Polo, just hard to hold the camera up against the massive G-forces. Those hours of practise on the xbox paid off

But if you want to be scared go for a lap with Davey! Whoa!
