Nürburgring Tourist Drive for Jags - 6+7 April 2013
OK
I've stopped shaking enough to type this
Firstly , a big thank you to cambo 351 for all his time and effort in helping /arranging the trip , that for me was definitely one off the bucket list not to be repeated , because to race your pride and joy round a track with no run off space in the zero degree temperatures and with some sleeting snow was mad , BUT what a buzz
There are other vids to show from the rest of us to back up cambo's vids
I dont know how to u tube stuff so have to wait for my son who is unwell at the mo ,who has little interest in helping buzzed up dad at mo ( he really is unwell at mo )
So as soon as he can I'm sure it will be done and uploaded for all to see .
It was nice to see all the other guy's and girl at the ring , and hi and thanks for the weekend

Just remembered i had a road hawk cam on the car
If i can get some of that done it gives more insight into what we did as we over took more cars ( you can just about hear I_MNL she was giving me advice as i was driving )
I'm not sure i believe the speed's on the road hawk

Please, please try to upload all your pictures and video's of this trip.
It is not often that we have a group meet at such an iconic location that can actually be driven by Joe Public.
@Cambo, if size is a limit, I will happily add them to the Forum mediafire account and provide Forum download links. (if you can collate, I am sure that we can come up with something for the Archives).
For this, create your own Free Mediafire Account, Upload the content, and I'll copy the files across and provide the links in our Download section + this thread.
The more pics/vids the better.

LOL at the tags for this thread; dick, nurburgring, *****...
Ahem, size is not a problem (i'm talking about the videos). Just need time to convert/upload.
Unfortunately, the best video we got is still in Yanni's phone, he is currently driving the Route 66 from Detriot to LA in a Roush Mustang, & won't be back for another week, lucky *******
I'll get some more up over the weekend

Next video. First lap out on Saturday morning. Very wet & slippery.
We sent Thomas out in front, because a) he's German, b) he had winter tyres, c) he actually had driven the Nürburgring before. Although that was 30 years ago...

Looks like you guys had a blast! It would be great if you uploaded
these to Imgur or Photobucket, then we could look at the originals
offsite easily.
Either way,
Awesome trip, thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see all the photos!
Tell Yanni that he can meet me in Tulsa, PM me if you want to give
him my Mobile number. those trips are always more fun if you have
a fellow Jaguar enthusiast to meet along the way. I'm also an official in the
Jaguar Club so it would be very stewardly of me to meet him

First of all I want to say that it was a pleasure to meet the other attendees of this exciting event! Thank you for this wonderful weekend, lady and gentlemen!
A big extra thank you goes to Cameron for initiating this event!
Unfortunately I missed Thomas and Yanni. They were already off when I rejoined the group on Saturday afternoon for taking my laps.
Apropos taking my laps. It was big fun to sweep the Daimler through the Green Hell! And for sure it wasn't an everyday's sight to see such a car on the Nordschleife
However while driving it became perfectly clear that my car is a cruiseship and not a racer. I got better with every lap but nevertheless I was one of the slowest on the track.
But once - and now ladies and gents, please stand up and applaude - I was able to overtake a BMW M5 (current model)!
It was a rented car I guess. In any case its driver was so anxious of every bend that he got on the brakes far too early.
I bought some of the pictures made by the Ring photographers and I will upload them to my dropbox account this weekend so you can enjoy some full sized photos of my Daimler soon. I must say that though it's no sports car it looks really good on the Nordschleife.
In the meantime you might have a look at this:
Have an eye at 3:16m and 3:55m. There's a XK at 6:12m too. However afaik car and driver didn't belong to our little group.

-10 points Highway Star! That car at 6:12 is a Maserati GT!!!
That is a great clip, I remember that tyre howling sound was a characteristic
of my car during my track day. (All season tyres), and your car
looks as though it is probably hurrying a British official away from terrorist
threats in its motions.
