Tires and money on an X300
In addition to my earlier post -regarding needing readers input regarding a 1996 XJ6 -TIRES & WHEELS. The wheels on the XJ6 looking a little "boring" -no offense -just taste. My stock chrome wheels on the 2006 XJ8 may look nice on the 1996 car. Yes??
The tires size on the 2006 is 235-55-17 -and near new The tire size for the XJ6 -SHOULD BE: 225-60-16 -the tires onthe carare GENERAL's and look like new snow tires! My speedo will not be so accurate - but how about the look of them? Noise - ? Handling? Should I just stick to whats on the car now - This may save me $800 in tires - but is it good in the long run? THANKS very much once again for the help. Cheers, John |
RE: Tires and money on an X300
Please try one and report back, my understanding from reading the experience of others is that the bolt pattern is different. Thus I am led to understand that X350 wheels will not fit on any preceding model.
The picture is my '97 VDP with a decent set of'94 Kiwi's. I'm not a big fan of the chrome trim on most cars, but its addition along with the wheels helped transform a big refrigerator into a car that people notice and appreciate. I still have a nicer set of the wheels on the shelf, if that looks like an appealing option. |
