Recently purchased this car. The switch panel was hanging loose, something in the black plastic that holds it in is broken. I considered using sealer to glue it in place. But here's the thing. All switches work except seat forward. Strangely that works when I press the whole panel hard into the seat. I can't get the forward to work unless panel is pressed hard into the seat.

Something inside the switch? Is that fixable for a non-electronic-wizard?

I considered a new switch. If everything then works and it sits where it should on the seat, worth buying. But there are so many part#s on these, so will they work on mine? Is color part of the part#? Mine looks like LNA6061BAAGD. What is the name of the color in Jaguar terms?

My VIN is 775752. There's no seat memory, no heated seat

Greetings all, :icon_user:My car has been running great since getting the fuel pump replaced, correct fuel filter swapped, and new line installed as well as fixing the diff tube back in place, but...

Greetings all, :icon_user:
My car has been running great since getting the fuel pump replaced, correct fuel filter swapped, and new line installed as well as fixing the diff tube back in place, but you know how that doesn't last long with these beasts sometimes it's just one of them months lol.

I still have a faulty Air Conditioner Relay, the unique white one above the front left underside cover so I have to take the 2, 30 amp fuses out at nearly every stop when it's hot out so that the fans don't stay runnin and drain my battery however sometimes the fans stay off til I walk inside and have been long gone so my battery died this week again.
So I went to jump the car but I also have been tight on funds for a little while due to a sick dad and expenses going up bills and such, so I have a really sh%tty cheap jump pack, talkin like $30 on amazon. Basically that jump pack gives me like a truly 5 second window to hit the boost button, jump the car, run to the drivers seat and crank the engine and it would cut out mid crank... about 4 times and I was late to a window tint consultation appointment for it and needed to get her started, so I did til I did. Got some whirring from the last few cranks, not a great sound, along with squeaking of some belt or pulley or harmonic balancer. I assume that may be the alternator belt from excess jumps sent to the car over and over, or maybe it can slip or something??? I then revved it a little and the squeak would get slightly worst til getting to a point and silencing, but after putting it in drive and starting to drive it sounded like constant squeaking with acceleration, with slower acceleration than usual until it stopped intermittently around 40 mphs, then coming back here and there til i got driving for about 5 minutes, still with slow acceleration til about 40-50mph.

It's been a couple days since, as I honestly have had zero spare time to work on it til now and the acceleration is still slow, crank is sloppy and sounds a bit dry if you know what I mean. Also is the XJ6 supposed to crank so quickly? I feel even before this happened it almost seems like on key turn to engine on it feels almost too quick, starting the engine "prematurely" and sometimes losing rpm and shutting off on a poor crank, I feel like it gets worst as the car gets hot, cold crank is peak.

So I ask as I have a few gaps in my knowledge of exactly what this might be, I've read Parker7's recent right ups on the 94' stalling regarding possibly burning fuel pump relay which I intend to swap tomorrow, as well as try the chevron brand injector cleaner too. I want to check the fuel pressure but I don't have the Jaguar fuel line adapter I read about nor a fuel gauge at the moment. Could also be CKPS as I've never taken a look at it, or did I throw my timing off? Kind of just spitballing with this as I've been self teaching myself as I go over the years since I got my first and it's all youtube and this and without any mentor or person to guide me there's been a lot to find out through experience starting from scratch. Thank you for all you that have continually assisted here and there, I'm taking her tomorrow to get some really nice 90% heat reduction ceramic tint and I'm so excited to finally stop sittin in a fishbowl! Gonna look so pretty I will share pictures later and then tackle any suggestions after my appointment with whatever ya'll got! :icon_dance-cpatch::icon_pala:

edit: sitting here thinking more, I also had a successful start recently that was rough, and a shut off about 15 seconds after startup, and saw some liquid dripping from under the center middle of my car. Could that be from the EVAP Canister? I've had so many odd fuel problems I wouldn't be surprised if I'm still running rich, how do I test for that? Also maybe my coolant sensor is still bad, buying another now, Parker said something about calibration but i didn't see anything about how to on the 801S.

Recently had to replace the air con clutch coil. They also replaced the air con fan sensor. See photos. When it came back from the shop, the engine check light was on, but I don't see anything obvious? Guess they must have disturbed something? But what???
Also, what is the small beige box attached to a wire going to the coil? The new coil lacks this part.

Hi all, my ‘96 XJ6 has manual, non heated seats. I’ve seen a parts car advertised which has heated seats in the right colour, so I’d be tempted to swap those in as I like to try and retrofit optional extras to all my cars.

If I buy the seats and the control panel switches, are these plug and play with existing wiring or will I need to get any additional electrical components too?

Second question, can the heating elements be added to my manual seats? I prefer manually adjustable seats, so if I can keep these as they are that would be preferable.

Thanks!

However there was no mention of actual contact info other than to say this could be found on evil-bay
I have searched there for "Jaguar radio bluetooth" but so far I have not found anything.
Anyone know anything about such a conversion?

I have in the past put an aftermarket radio in a XJ40 car that I own but I was never satisfied with the look of the resulting change in radio head units.

Having a confluence of issues with my Six at the moment and unsure if related. I first encountered problems with the revs plummeting as I came to a stop, with the car struggling to not stall. This developed into occasional stalling when stopped at lights. I now also have the issue that the car is very hard to start - with it cranking for a fair while before catching and immediately dying three or four times before I can get it to run. Unsure if related.

Other than a lumpy idle, the car runs well when going with no hesitation and plenty of power.

My first thought was the CKPS, but the car does show 200rpm while cranking so is that ruled out? I’ve cleaned the TB and IACV with no improvement. Battery is very new and cranks at about 10.75V.

Not sure where to go next…

Hello all,
I am contemplating replacing the vertical bars on my x300 series XJ6 with wire mesh grille inserts....also, I'm gonna predict that the purists reading this will probably unload on me.
I presently have two club badges attached to the grille and I am wondering whether they will go straight onto the wire grille...or will I have to make some sort of modification to the fixings to make them fit.
Wouldn't mind knowing this in advance.

So, my question is, does someone here have the exact pitch between the openings in the mesh - expressed in millimetres. An accurate measurement across 5 or 6 openings would be really helpful.
I live in an area where there is no likelyhood of measuring it off another vehicle. Hence, asking for help via this forum.

Anyway, many thanks for reading.

Hi all, I’ve noticed that my new to me XJ6 doesn’t have any reverse lights. I’ve checked the bulbs, and fuse 17 in the left hand side heel board and both are ok. Is there anything else I can try to help diagnose the issue? I suspect it’s related to the reverse switch on the manual gearbox, but if there’s something else I can check first that would be great.

If it is likely to be the switch, does anyone know the part no.? I can’t seem to find one online. Thanks!

Edit: Another symptom, I had someone stand behind the car whilst I operated the gear lever in and out of reverse, apparently the left side light came on but only once.

I need to replace my brake fluid so I was wondering if actually removing the lines to the abs and then reconnecting it all up and bleeding the brakes is going to cause a bunch of issues, or is it pretty straight forward? I can do the bending the brake lines method and not disconnect them just wondering which is best. TIA

Greetings again!
This time I'm here with a simpler problem. When I purchased the car I replaced all 8 speakers, and the head unit. All speakers worked at first but then someone hit my car on the rear left, and tore into the steel and water got inside past the vapor barrier a bit, it hasn't been much but it was enough to make it stop i guess. I then took the doors apart, removed the wires, and dried it up and then everything worked again, just to stop again eventually shortly after.

This week i replaced the rear speakers to match the fronts and and I still have no sound. There is very faint bass coming from both rear larger speakers, but nothing at all substantial and it doesn't sound great. My speakers are wired to the correct wires I believe, (black/slate or black/white was negative and the colorful one whether pink or green was postive). Now I'm trying to figure out is there a fuse or relay or grouping or something in between the headunit and the rear speakers? Did I short out my headunits "rear speaker outputs" or is that even possible without killing the whole radio. Also yes I tried with fader, fade completely back goes near silent, which is also why I am confused that they're getting some signal or something.

I also know I have a bad relay inside the floorboard somewhere regarding the carnival lights that can happen when you open the rear right or sometimes other doors, which I haven't fixed yet because I'm not sure what relay or how to fix that one just throwing it out there incase it's related. Any help is appreciated!!! Thank you :D
