2010 Jaguar XK 5.0L has four speed sensors—one for each wheel. I'm getting a P0500. It happened just after replacing the Battery.
Duralast Platinum H8-AGM; Group Size 49
Deep Cycle Capability:
Cold Cranking Amps (CCA): 900 A
Reserve Capacity (RC): 160 minutes
Amp Hour (Ah): 92 Ah - 95 Ah
Voltage: 12 V
Dimensions: 13.94" L x 6.94" W x 7.50" H
Weight: 58.2 lbs
Warranty: 4-Year Free Replacement

NO engine Light, no other codes; I had an "Oxygen Sensor INC, up uintil two days ago and it finially went RDY.

Does anyone know which speed sensor is "A"? Someone said it's the right rear?

I tried to Monitor the live wheel speeds while driving to isolate which sensor is dropping out or reading erratically, but my $350 scanner does not have that option. So, I ordered all 4 sensors and going to replace all of them. Does anyone know if the code will just clear after I replace the bad one? It's listed as "Permanent" and can't be cleared with the scan tool. The car also failed California Smog yesterday because of this!

Anyone???

Hi Folks,

I'm looking to see if anyone knows who manufactured the original timing belt fitted to the 2014 2.2 diesel XFs.

I just recently purchased a 2014 Jaguar XF 2.2 diesel with a full main dealer history. It has 90,000 miles on it.
Issue is I cant see if the timing belt has been replaced. I popped the cover off and it has a Gates belt fitted which looks in really good condition and the crank pulley bolt looks new.
I know in most vehicles the OEM belts even though they are manufactured by Gates or another brand would normally have the car manufacturers logo printed on the belt.

My belt has no Jaguar logo, its just a Gates Powergrip belt which is leading me to suspect it may have been replaced.
I will plan to replaced it regardless but it would be nice to know its been done.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Hi there everyone, David here from Australia!

Just bought a 2007 XK Coupe. (105000 kilometers)

Black with black interior.

Silver not wood trim.

20 inch Senta wheels. (just fitted a set of P Zeros.)

Back box has been replaced with two small silencers. (Sounds spicy!)

Last serviced 3 years ago, but only driven 4000 kilometers!

I'm replacing all filters and liquids.

Bonnet struts, rear sway-bar drop links, brake pads, auxiliary drive belt.

Fixed the glove box damper.

Repaired/refurbished the wheels (two had curb rash.)

Removed and restored the headlights (very shiny now!)

Replaced the side lights and amber marker lights to white LEDs.

Replaced the amber indicator bulbs to "Chrome" bulbs which flash amber.

Now when looking at the headlights, it's all silver, no nasty orangeness!

Planning to open up the headlights and do a reflector delete (paint the surrounds black)

Never seen salt, underside is like new!

Previous owner paid $3000 AUD, for paint correction and ceramic coating. (incredible finish for a 19 year old car.)

Normally buy nice cars then sell after 18-24 months.

The Jaaag is different, I have no intentions to part with it! (normally I'm planning/researching the next car, not this time!)

I am "fixing" the pedestrian protection system...

Cheers
David.

Hiya folks! I still have the first car I bought way back in 1976. Being young and stupid I bought a 68 S1 1/2 OTS in Halifax. I'm the second owner and still have all the original sales material. Her and I bounced across the country together as I was posted from East coast (Halifax) to West coast (Comox on the island). Now retired just outside of Fredericton NB. I was an airplane tech in the RCAF for 42 years (I still can't believe that!) and have always done all my own work.
I found the forum while hunting for the much rumoured Chevy(?) brake master cylinder replacement.
My car is stock except for a NippoDenso alternator and the Ford EDIS distributor replacement from the Jag Lover's Forum. Oh ya, the LED lights and signal lights.

Selling a used set of the Tarox F2000 rotors for the F type R or SVR. I had these on my SVR for 2 years and recently removed before I was going to sell my SVR. In the end, the buyer backed out and I already replaced the rotors so they are off the vehicle and ready to be shipped at buyers expense. These rotors look fantastic! What Swallows racing and Aston Martin uses on their vehicles. The fronts are a 2 piece design for weight savings and the rears are one piece. $1750 takes the set plus shipping since they are heavy. I spent over $3500 on them and had to pay customs since they came from Italy in 2022.

Hello All!
Firstly, i apologize that i haven’t figured out how to get to my signature.

My questions concern the braking system of a 1967 S1 / 4.2L fhc that i inherited.

I was shocked to discover that the previous owner replaced the Brake Dual Circuit with a Single Circuit, using a universal slave master designed for some Japanese disc-drum equipped car, with a matching Single circuit master cylinder!

Likely an attempt at saving precious bucks and time, since he would have had to import them from halfway around the world.

That said, i intend to bring back the safer Dual circuit system using the proper replacements.

I plan on using the later setup, and using the Slave Cylinder with the booster band lock (and not the earlier “twist & lock” version).

So my question is wether the Master Cylinder from the earlier “twist & lock” booster is the same one used in the later Band type booster? Do they have the same piston bores, piston travel, residual valve arrangement, reaction valve, etc..?

I’m of course concerned about braking safety and performance. My brakes are aftermarket standard sized 2 &1/8” in front and 1& 7/8” rear by Hye-Dra-Cyl.
I look forward to a definitive answer.
Thank You guys!

I have just had my front bushes replaced, requiring the front subframe removal. However it has been discovered where the sub frame meets the chassis, this area was so rusty the ‘lug’ which fits into the subframe had broken away as a result of the rust. Cutting out the affected area showed that the rest of the chassis was perfect, both through to the front of the car and towards the rear. Due to the location of the telescopic suspension leg, the affected area of the rust cannot be seen. It’s only when removing the suspension leg that access to this area can be seen. See pictures attached. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Anyone have any idea where the water is getting in to cause this issue?

Anyone who has had the pleasure of fixing coolant leaks and removing the supercharger I am trying to identify a hose that is located on the top of my 5.0 supercharger that is at the back. It is a hose that goes directly into the firewall. Before removing it I want to identify the part.

I have watched dozens of videos of removing the supercharger, however, I have not seen any that deals specifically with the v8 5.0 Jaguar. The V8 5.0 Land Rover videos I have seen do not have the same layout. It also seems on the V8 5.0 there is absolutely no room. I did remove the wipers and wiper cowling but that joint is still tight. My Jag is a 2012 XJ with 80k.

The purpose of the job is to fix a small leak either at the water pump or the the Y pipe in the valley. I will also be upgrading any plastic pieces to aluminum as well as replace a few hoses that were brittle.

Thanks in advance
