2017 F Pace 35t - Tyres

Greetings

My F pace 35t has ticked over 44k - Km's on its original tyres and is up for a new set of boots.... from new it has been on 255-50R20 Conti Sport Contact 5's and from the feed back i have has this is very good mileage for these tyres ..?

Contact 5's are coming in at Au $529 ea fitted ... i have also bee quoted Conti Ultra Contact 6's for Au $410 ea fitted, the fella at the tyre shop reckons these are just as good as the Contact 5's ....?

if the contact 6's just as good its a no brainer but i thought i would put this to the forum for comment and or advise on this and other brands. The Link is to a review carried out here in Oz last year

all good .. regards

The OEM tyre for the F-Pace with 20" wheels is the Continental SportContact 5 SUV in 255/50R20. Most of the major retailers (JAX, Bob Janes, etc.) sell them for around $469 which includes mounting and balancing. I don't see how a $529 tyre and a $410 tyre can be the same thing or "just as good". That's BS.

Hi StuG

Bob Jane quoted me Au $469.00 for the Conti Sport Contact 5's and yes i am skeptical on the Conti 6's at Au $ 410.00 being "just as good" but they do get a good write up in the "Wheels" Tyre test ... so i am still considering the way forward with this ...?

all good

Darren
