2018 F-Pace Diesel Oil and Oil Filter Change

Hello Jaguar Enthusiasts,

I have a 2018 Jaguar F-Pace. It is my daily driver and I drive fairly fast everyday @ 85-95mph for over 2 hours daily. I am reading the service interval for oil changes is 20,000K for this vehicle but, I would like to change the oil sooner to be safe.

Is there a guide out there which covers how to perform the oil change ?
Is there an appropriate oil available for purchase in the United States for the 2018 F-Pace diesel.

The manual is calling for SAE 0W-30 meeting Jaguar Land Rover specification STJLR.03.5007.
Please help me figure this out.

Thank you ,

I'm assuming you have the high spec 2.0L Diesel Ingenium.

You can change it earlier, won't void warranty.

JLR uses Castrol Edge Professional - this one is classified as ACEA C2 0W30, if you choose a different brand, you'll need something equivalent to this.

Be careful when doing this outside of the dealer. You need to show you've followed the specified procedure, and the correct oil, keep receipts, etc.

As for doing the actual oil change, you'll need to remove the undertray to gain access to sump plug. The oil filter housing will be at the top, but you will need a special tool to remove it, or a large pair of pliers and a towel so you don't crack the filter housing.

Hi JBzXJ40,

We have Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30 available , in the specifications it is noted to meet or exceed ACEA C2, C3 requirements.

Would any oil that meets this ACEA C2, C3, also meet STJLR.03.5007. ?

Thank you ,

If it says it meets or exceeds those requirements, then you should be fine. You still need to show proof that's what you've used, keep receipts. If you take it to an independent, make sure you keep the invoice and they stamp the book.
