Did I destroy my f-pace caliper?

Had everything apart when ignition timed out and turned off and reactivated the epb. Piston is now way way out and does not seem to retract even with epb motor removed and turning retraction bolt. If so, any good recommendations for caliper suppliers? Is SVR rear caliper different than standard?

I doubt you have destroyed them, maybe a couple of pictures would help?
Perhaps the piston has come far enough out to cock and get jammed?

There's a seal between the piston and the caliper that is tight around the piston, and if you push the piston all the way through that seal it can be hard to get back in (and you can damage the seal trying). Norri's right, some photos would help.

Calipers are usually rebuildable, seal kits are cheap, and it's a pretty easy job... BUT a brake failure is no joke so that's one area where I suggest having a shop do it if you're not confident. It might cost you a hundred bucks or less if you have the caliper off the car, not worth saving that little and risking failure in an emergency.

Having a caliper off is a great excuse to install braided brake lines if you don't have them already 😉

Thanks all, I took off caliper for a closer look, piston popped right out of rubber cover. And inside rubber cover are all sorts of springs and bearings (Part of EPB system). I guess when EPB maxes out piston it also barfs out it's own guts. I found a couple other articles on this exact issue. One guy was able to piece it back together (70 ball bearings and springs) , but everyone else bought used or new. Since SVR is unique I will be paying a a $600 stupid tax. SO.......if you use the method I used to retract the epb, you have 10 minutes to complete the job before self destruct sequence is activated...lol. At least it would have been fun if it called out an audible. 10...........9..........8.......

Supposedly the other method to retract epb lasts longer (brake maintenance mode) good thing to know.....now. Others recommended removing the EPB motor, also a good idea. I got my epb nuts loose but it wouldn't budge. Once I knew I was screwed really put some pressure on it and it popped off. now I know.

Any recommendations for bleeding this specific vehicle once my new caliper comes in?
