Jonny Lieberman just took in an Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio for MT. A few points of interest:

4282 Lbs
0-60 in 3.3 seconds (MT tested)
$97,390. as tested
Carbon Ceramic Brakes optional at $8000.00
Set top Nurburgring Nordschleife SUV record beating the lambo Gallardo LP 560-4
at 7 min 51.7 seconds.
Has real shifter.
But still has that ugly Vulva front grille...but what a suv...

(1) Can someone explain the current fad of giving 'superpower' to big hulkin' SUVs instead of regular cars? Or maybe we're just hearing more of it today because the media is sensationalizing it?

(2) What's the depreciation curve like for Alfa Romeo for those of us not having a deep pocket? I'm assuming it's same if not worse than British.

Having your cake and eating it. All in a single vehicle. Power, handling, yet enough room for the whole family, and enough ground clearance and AWD to get your family to 99% of possible destinations and those nice outdoorsy spots. Actually the Stelvio, just like the F Pace and Macan, is pretty far from a big hulking monster in everyday traffic.

I very much enjoy having all these capabilities in one single daily driven vehicle.

I noticed you got the tune and pulleys for awhile Whitefpace, what do you think? I just purchased the tune, any advice?

The tune with pulley performs well above my expectations. I’ve done 3500km on the tuned engine so far. Easy sub 4.5sec 0-60 sprints, a huge bump in the midrange (the midrange is actually much more of a surprise than the extra top end), as smooth and docile as stock at idle and in city traffic, and still capable of 9liters per 100km (26mpg) in highway driving, despite pumping out roughly 440-450hp...highly recommended.

...oh man that's incredible and your ride looks excellent. I can't help but notice your front end. I tried to PM you, but I can't as it seems I dont have privilege on this forum, so I'll ask the question here. Have you painted the front black charcoal over thr white stripe and just stopped, so you have a visable paint line, or have you purchased a black piece that that goes over the entire section that I do see is available? You've done a terrific job with the entire vehicle, but I'm especially interested in what you did in that specific area?

The US F Pace SVR configurator just went live.

https://rules.config.jaguar.com/jdx/...920-2095516107

Looks the SVR is an excellent deal with regards to standard equipment.

Blind spot monitoring is not standard equipment. So I disagree that it is well-equipped.

Very strange indeed with Rear Camera, 360° Parking Aid, Traffic Sign Recognition ,Adaptive Speed Limiter, Driver Condition Monitor and Lane Keep Assist, much more costly packages, all standard....

On a side note, have you noticed that the fast SUV versions have become faster (in a straight line that is) than comparable performance sedans and coupes within the hierarchy of the top makes?

Alfa Guilia Q4: 0-60 3.7
Alfa Stelvio Q4: 0-60 3.3

AMG C63S: 0-60 3.8
AMG GLC63S: 0-60 3.3

BMW: Until the new M5 came out, the X5/6M was considerably faster than the M3/M4.

F Pace SVR: No comparable coupe or sedan with that much power in the lineup. (Unless you'd count the project 8...)

Strange times we live in...

Blind Spot Monitor is the ONLY thing I find useful in today's new car electronics based on my own driving habits... . don't need those other 'electronic nannies' like lane keeping, auto-braking, etc. Wish I would add BSM in my old cars.

SUVs with faster 0-60 than sedans are encouraging idiot drivers to speed and cause worse mayhem on small cars they hit.

Actually, Blind Spot Monitoring is standard on any Jaguar model as long as it is an R-Sport trim or above. An "S" and SVR would have it standard. Blind Spot "Assist" is different, and that is what is optional with the Drive Packages.

Going forward for the 2019 models, looks like Jag is going all in with safety features standard in all models, and even the 10" Touch Pro system is standard. Tech Package now only gets you the digital cluster behind the steering wheel much like the E-Pace.

I can't wait til one of these gets to my store!

Cheers, I have blind spot monitoring on both of mine, my wife has cross traffic detection in heres which is actually really useful when you are reversing out of parking spots. Blind spot assist looks as though it actually pushes you away from cars in your blind spot if you are trying to merge, that looks interesting but maybe overkill if your monitoring was working properly.

The SVR continues to look like an excellent value package in its segment. For 81-83k US it’s very nicely equipped while the Alfa, GLC63 and Macan all require at least another 10k in options to be comparable.

Even a similarly equipped V6 S will easily come in at 70k...

Does anyone know when these are expected in the showroom?, local dealer couldn't give me an answer...looking forward to picking this up as the next car (current Lexus GSF).
