New Intake installed
Purchased a new intake runner kit from Mina Gallery. It came quickly, looked like good quality with very nice welds. Super easy to install. A bit more intake noise (good) much cleaner set up than stock. Performance gains? Unsure at this point. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...a5ad7801ce.jpg

Does it add more noise than the BMC's did? By the way, couldn't help notice the coolant level seems a little low...

Just a little bit as far as I can tell. Only a very short drive since installing. I'll check back in after driving a bit more.

I was always led to believe that the point of CAI was the 'C' which stands for 'Cold'?
Also that in physics metal was a far better method for the transfer of heat than plastics by quite some margin, if so then surely all of that new metal in the engine bay would lead to higher air intake temps? So this would be a HAI :) Looks nice and shiny though! |
Looks really nice have you done any baseline dyno pills to get the HP and TQ before and after? Also can you send me a link to where you got this setup Thanks DP |
No, no dyno pulls as I didn't really expect big power gains from an intake change. It also has BMC air filters and the carbon filters were removed. That being said, after a few days I noticed an increase in supercharger whine and intake noise. It sounds great in my opinion. I also noticed an increase in throttle response and seat of the pants performance. Dyno pulls will wait until ECU flash in near future. I have done one track day with the F Pace and have another in the near future. It will be interesting to see the difference if any in real world peformance. The intake came from minagallery.com
