Default Same issue, but have a fix, it’s a WhatsApp problem.

Hi

Had the same issue and posted on this forum about it.

its not a PIVI issue, its a WhatsApp update that took place on the same day as the PIVI update (5th Aug). So the fix is to check your version of WhatsApp and ensure its got the latest version which was updated today (13th Aug).

Took ages for me to work it out but if you tried starting a WhatsApp message away from your car just using Siri (which is what CarPlay uses), it’ll tell you the same thing, i.e “the contact does not have WhatsApp…..”

Anyway, there’s your fix.

Good luck.

I had the same issue and only got partial success by deleting the paired phone, rebooting the handset, then pairing again. Turning all message alerts off and on again helped a bit.

I switched to the whatsapp api for a project where I needed steady messaging without surprise charges, and it made life easier because the setup was basically just a quick QR scan. It handled chatbots and media messages without me wrestling with extra configs, and the flat monthly rate kept the budget predictable. If you need something that won’t flake out under load, it’s been solid for me so far.

It also gave me much better control over message delivery and automation compared to the standard app. Overall, it’s been a reliable solution, especially for projects where stability and consistency really matter.
