Spy Shots: Jaguar C-X17 Mule

18 Attachment(s)
The mule for the upcoming Jaguar SUV, pre-viewed as the C-X17, was spotted once again. And this time it has traded the snowy roads of Northern Sweden for some hot asphalt around the Nürburgring Nordschleife instead.

But even if it's chasing around the Nürburgring, t's still wearing that wider and longer Evoque body borrowed from Land Rover.

Check out the photos attached below.

I know other high profile brands are backing SUVs, but there's just something Wrong about a Jaguar SUV!

I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just doesn't feel right.

I think it's quite good looking, besides it would be stupid of Jaguar to not enter this market, look at what the Cayenne has done for Porsche and I expect the Macan will be no different. Some say it might water down the image of what Jaguar is, but without this Jaguar might not be viable in the future. As Callum said they can't go on selling in the volumes that they have been and this is the perfect segment to enter to boost sales. I'm sure this will live up to the old "Grace, Space, Pace" mantra quite well. But back to it being wrong, I really doubt that the people in their 911s feel as if they're having any less fun because Porsche makes SUVs now.

I think the "wrong" feeling is that Jaguar has been so tied to Land Rover that anyone who wanted a "Jaguar" SUV would buy a Range Rover. Porsche didn't have a boutique SUV maker tied to them in the VAG so it wasn't as much of a stretch to add an SUV. I suppose one could argue that VAG pushed Audi SUVs, but it isn't the same.

I understand from that perspective but Jaguar and Land Rover have two distinctly different styles and personalities. Also even though it is Jaguar Land Rover not all dealerships have both.
