2016 Base Dynamic settings
I know you can't configure dynamic mode in a 2016 base, but what are the defaults then for dynamic mode? As in, if I got an S instead, would I be able to make steering stiffer vs base or is base dynamic mode the most aggressive of all settings?
There are four things which can be changed using iDynamic if you have it (which you don't on a base) - throttle response, steering response/feel/stiffness, suspension stiffness and gearbox response. All four have only two settings - Normal and Dynamic. On a car with iDynamic the default setting for Dynamic mode is all four of those are set to Dynamic, and conversely if not in Dynamic mode all four revert to Normal ("soft"). But it is configurable, you can decide and set which of those four things change to Dynamic when you put the car in Dynamic mode and which stay as Normal. For example I drive in Dynamic mode all the time and I have configured the iDynamic so that three of the functions change to Dynamic but suspension stays in Normal, for a softer ride.
I think we have worked out over the years that the fixed setting on the Base are equal to the "Normal" (ie soft) setting in iDynamic for throttle response, gearbox and steering, but somewhere in between "soft" and "hard" (Normal and Dynamic) tending towards "hard" for the suspension/dampers.
I believe everything is in the normal/soft mode.
FWIW, I think the dampers behave better in Dynamic mode than normal mode. I also believe people without the Dynamic suspension are experiencing the lack of dampening with the standard suspension (and complain that it feels rough).
