Looking at A new 2017 convert R AWD , msrp is 126408.00 they offerd it for 79500.00, just woorying about the ceremic brakes, should I worry about the replacement price

Seems like a great deal to me as well. Ceramic brakes are expensive to replace, but that wouldn't scare me away from the car. |
That's a screaming deal! I have no idea how long the ceramic brakes last, but I agree with the others -- don't let that fact dissuade you. You'll likely learn to use the transmission for much of your slowing, using the brakes for the final distances or for emergencies.

Once the CC brakes need to be replaced, go with something different such as the Wortec rotors.

I have had my MY17 with ceramics since July. I do notice when wet they take just a second to bite. In the cold the same. NO BRAKE DUST!!! Its awesome. Look fantastic. If you do not track the car I would expect them to last the life of the car under normal driving. I engine brake and at times use them to turn the tail lights on more than braking. And you check the wear by weight. For that price I would take 10K and put it aside. CCB's are hard to find. That is a serious deal. I just paid 78K for my MY17 with 9K miles and CPO so I got the original warrantee again. And I had to have Red!! My money would be in their hand already! |

Thought I bought the very last "new" 2017 R vert in America this past May 2018, with 30 miles on odo.
Got $26K off the $113K sticker. Thought that was a good deal. Later found out that, although it was presented to me as a brand new car, it was already placed in service since Jan of 2017, so 1.5 yrs already into the 5 yr warranty & service. A real pain to have the dealership to finally give me a no-deductible 2 extra years of extended warranty. So ask them about if car is already been in service, although it's advertised as new. Otherwise, it's a great deal!!! |
So just spoke to dealer, he said the warranty started July 2017 , but he will make it a CPO. Is that good ?

Yes, the CPO is better than new, because as a Jaguar Certified Pre-Owned, they inspect approx 100+ items, and EXTEND the original warranty -- both in miles and years. And if it was inspected by your selling dealership, they take a sense of ownership of their future warranty and maintenance work. One caution, which may be a different policy now; when I purchased my '07 XJR, with just 35k miles, it was still in original warranty. However, since I bought it from a dealer, that warranty would not extend to me. Had I bought it direct from the owner as seller, it would have.
