Wow! I may have to buy an F-type and drive it cross-country just to participate in such a great event. Everything looks so beautiful and so well planned, and FUN. That's just great. I'm glad everyone had a spectacular time with little or no hiccups. ENJOY!
Everyone at the American Heritage Museum was awesome but I really connected with Lars. (Hey DJS…did you return his watch yet?)
Lars is indeed a great guy. I gave him a brief ride in my car, after which RickyJay found an unfamiliar watch with a broken band. I returned it yesterday, though he wasn’t there at the time unfortunately.
Dave,
Just catching up after my return from Ireland! What a great event you put on! Heard directly from Mr. L who said it was so and then some. Great photos of a great group. Sorry to have missed it. Good to see old friends (and) new having a great time. Regards to all and hats off to you!
That’s what you get when you trash talk. Plus, I have it on good authority—from the man who took that video and who is an EXPERT in communications—that the audio and visual are not synced. I actually started after the zip guy said “GO”.
Thanks for asking. These events have been by invitation only, as we’ve built up a group of friends over the years. I had hoped to invite a few local forum members, but as this was the first event I organized and ran (after attending 9 great events in Maine), I did myself a favor and kept it simple. Still, it’s a lot of work in the year leading up to one of these 3-day events, which is one reason we invite people we already know we like to spend time with.
We post these threads in hopes of inspiring others to put together their own events and to show what’s possible. We’re happy to assist or advise anyone thinking of taking the plunge and putting something together.
Will the event be held next year? How do we find out about it so we can sign up? Thanks.

If DJS will permit me, I will expound a bit more on the subject (of hosting/attending). In 2016 I hosted the first F-Type event (in Maine, and for all I know anywhere). Having hosted two huge multi-day Acura NSX events in NYC back in the late 90’s, it wasn’t my first rodeo. It was easy enough for me to do—granted, time-consuming—as I simply “took new friends” to the places I, and my wife, go to on a regular basis. Whether that’s a great restaurant or a wonderful attraction. The only issue or caveat is the number of people one can bring to said restaurant or attraction. Try getting a reservation for 2-4 people at any of the great places we’ve gone to over 9 events, never mind 32-34. I don’t mind gently twisting an arm or two—and have in the name of these events—but I never wish to force the issue. The point being it quickly became by-invitation only not because we’re a group of snobs but because opening an event up to a group larger than we’ve become—and since 2017—is not feasible.
DJS took the baton—although when you start an event on a Thursday (and many of my events had a pre-event event day(s) before the actual start) and end on a Monday, you’re not talking a 3 day event but more like 5; and that’s not including getting to the event—and did a splendid job. I would think others could, should, too.
