Brake Pedal Pressure?
 
Background: I have not driven my 2017 F-Type SVR (non ceramic brakes) in over 2 months so I can not remember how the brake pedal is supposed to feel. I had to remove the Brake Pedal Assembly located under the dash and in order to do this we had to take out the Master Cylinder/Brake booster. After we installed everything we bled the brakes and the master cylinder. I couldn't get the pressure bleeder to work so we had to manually bleed the brakes. Once done the pedal had some play in it before it engaged. Can't remember how it was so I need some help...

Do your brakes engage immediately?
Do your brakes give and then engage?

I have a new to me 2016 and there is some play before the brakes engage, dealership told me this was normal.

I have a MY2017 v-6, with manual transmission and original standard brakes. I do not have to push very far or press very hard for the brakes to engage. There should be some specs somewhere that provide the acceptable distance of free play. I found this thread, may or may not help, look for the post about the "pedal graph' on the Dynamic menu, if you have that.

tested my brakes today
 
Had the F out and paid close attention to the brake action. It is a v-6, not sure if there is major difference in the actual brake construction.IE pedals, etc.. other than the pads and rotors. There is very little freeplay before I sense that the brakes are in action. It takes very little effort to brake this car, very light pedal pressure.

Yep, with the Porterfield R4-S pads the initial engagement is very soft whilst with the stock pads (or most other semi-metallic pads) the initial engagement is immediate and sudden, too much so for my liking. The "Porterfield Effect" feels like you suddenly have an extra 1/2" or so of initial brake pedal travel before they start to bite.
When I first fitted the Porterfields it felt so soft that I thought I had some air in the brake lines but it turns out that was not the case.
It did not take me long to get used to the Porterfields and I very quickly came to appreciate the progressive feel, very different to the "on/off switch" feel of the stock pads.
Also the Porterfields are just as strong as the stock pads when need be, and of course the icing on the cake (and the main reason I bought them) is they give off a fraction of the brake dust of the stock pads, I would say 1/4 as much.
