The mid-life crisis BS is just shaming from females/wives who hate to see a man enjoying his life.
Females making 90% of the vehicle decisions while the 'man' is just the wallet carrier. Ask any car salesman and they will tell you they sell to the woman and the man is insignificant in the buying process. THAT is why sports car sales are at an all time low.
I remember in the late 90s standing at SW Broadway in Portland and a really nice red Vette was at the light. A big fat female at the intersection yelled "sorry about your dick." The guys in the Vette yelled back "don't worry Moby we are not on a whale hunt." I remember it like yesterday because I laughed so hard.
I'll drive whatever I like regardless of what some dimwit has to say about it.

The Zora-whatever, - will be much more attractive. Unlike most cars when adding bits here and there usually wreck the purity/lines, but with this it will work.
Solid rumors are that the twin turbo 4.2 Caddy engine will be used - 750 or so HP. Or ZR1 in a year, ZORA in 2. Probably $100k car easily. But for what it will be ..... much better choice than a $95k GT500.

My father is a little older to be considered a Baby Boomer but he is super excited about the new Stingray. He's owned every generation Corvette from the 70's up to the C6. I thought he was done with sports cars given his age, but he's set on getting a C8 now.

My next door neighbor is 72 and owns a 63 split window Corvette which he lovvves. So I was curious what he thought about this very nontraditional 2020 Vette. He said he loved it, was very impressed with the technology, looks and power. He said it was a revolutionary car, much like his '63 was in its day. He applauded Chevrolet for the move.

One thing mock-up designers fail to understand is that ZR1 C8 will have to have MUCH BIGGER vents to deal with heat - this means more mesh on the rear bumper to vent heat, bigger side scoops to accommodate air flow to intercoolers and likely widened rear wheel base so there is more room for side-mounted turbos.
