This question has popped up a lot lately. That wire is only used during the shipping process, the dealer disconnects it.

Waddyamean lately?
That question has popped up at least once a month for the whole ten years I have been on this forum!
It is far and away the most commonly asked question about modern Jags (not just the F-Type), even more than "what oil should I use?"
I have been begging the Mods for years and years to make the answer to this question a sticky across all of the modern Jag sub-forums but to no avail.

Very true!
I would also add hooking up the drivers door soft close connector. This is unhooked when the cars are shipped from the factory and again supposed to be connected by the dealer BEFORE the car is delivered to the customer. Many are not!

I fondly remember the day I asked it (either on here or the UK forum). Happy days.

On the XJ Jaguar added soft close doors in 2014. The drivers soft close door was not connected at the factory. But like the transit relay it was suppose to be connected before delivery to the customer. That loose connection is also seen floating around in the trunk. Some owners never found this out and 2nd and even 3rd owners have posted about why the other 3 doors soft close worked but the drivers door did not!

People would find this in the trunk;

Just connect the plug and now the drivers door soft close will work.

Here is where the transit relay plug in your hand is stored in the trunk in my XJ.

So off topic as this is the F-Type forum.
