I have noticed a lot of debris in the horizontal Radiator that is under the main radiator (maybe for the intercooler?) Has anyone figured out a good way to clean this. On my Boxster it was pretty easy to clean the rads as the front bumper skin was easy to remove, but I have not figured an easy way to get to this one?

Just remove the front under tray then it's easy to access that radiator.
Not really as easy as you would like though as it's a bit of a PITA to remove the front under tray, 16 or so large bolts across the front another four small ones in the middle then another two Torx screws each side in the wheel wells.

 

Thanks, that is what I was afraid of. My F-type is too low for the ramps I have and getting that entire under tray off with out lifting the car looks like an issue.

 

No way to get the under tray off without lifting the car, unless of course you are a 50 lb contortionist!
You can juuuust remove the 16 or so large bolts/screws across the front without jacking the car up but not the four bolts further back.
Just get a couple of "low entry" trolley jacks and use them together on the two front jacking points, then shove a pair of axle stands underneath for safety.
I have done this heaps of times with zero problems.

 

I have been considering the QuickJack BL-5000SLX Portable Car Lift, this may just be the little push i needed

 

I have the Quickjack and used it to replace the crank pulley on my F-Type. Great for rotating tires and brake jobs on other vehicles too. Would definitely recommend.

 

Awesome, how do you lift the car? I searched the jack points and they appear to be a foot or so inboard at the front. I couldn't think of how to make the quick jack work as it doesn't have swing arms?

Race Ramps low profile ramps just fit under my lowered f Type, Easier and safer than most other methods, just not good for brake/suspension work....

 

I have attached two photos of the jack points I used with the Quickjack. One is just behind the front wheel (lift block covers holes) and the other just in front of the rear wheel but behind the black flap (lift block covers the three bolts). You need to use the tall blocks supplied with the jack so the flap doesn't get crushed. You need to slightly angle the front of the jack frame toward the center of the car to pick up the front jack point. I also attached a stock photo of an F -Type on Quickjacks (the jacks are backward for some reason in the photo and its not my car).

I am at a loss understanding why would you lift the car, remove covers etc.? You clean it from the front intake vent.... Get a shopvac flat tip attachment, heat and flatten a bit more, use an air line with an air gun to push the leaves and debris toward the shopvac tip. When you get the debris vacuumed, spray an orange degreaser on top of it, let it sit 10-15 minutes and rinse. Everything is dove via the lower center vent.

 

Because it's an excuse to buy a lift

I have commented on this a few times before.
That is the diagram shown in the F-Type Owner's Manual (and in the Workshop Manual not just once but twice!) but it is dead wrong, it is really the diagram of the XF and/or XK jacking points.
The give away is the lay out of the exhaust system, piping and rear mufflers, very obviously not F-Type.
It seems the lazy compiler(s) of the Owner's Manual simply copy-pasted the XF / XK diagram into the F-Type manual with zero thought that it might be different on the F-Type.
RGPV6S's photos clearly show the correct jacking points.

+1. A little patience, a thin plastic spatula and a shop vac will quickly remove the debris. If you track the car, I can imagine you need to apply the degreaser, but for street use just rinsing with water should be enough.

 

I found that using this type of air gun makes it a 2 minute job and true, the degreaser part is mostly after track time or heavy rain

 

Yeah that area picks up quite a bit of debris.

 

You must have one of those limited edition off road F-Types.
