@scm makes sense, you live in JLR country! I'm pretty sure the service level matches regional sales.

Or maybe the dealers have a bit of national pride.

Just got loaned an XE after waiting 10 weeks for some simple warranty work. JLR products aren't big sellers here in Texas, as you might imagine.

Yeah, Austin is more Pious (Prius) country from what I've heard.

Relative is the key word here. Yes, Austin probably has relatively more Prius's than the rest of Texas.

It’s kind of funny - this is my first car where the dealer routinely offers loaners (if they are out they also go the enterprise route). So far I’ve had 3 Discos, an xjl, an xe, an e-pace and I’m on my second evoque. They know I prefer cars over SUVs but rarely have them. I feel bad when I bitch about being stuck in SUVs since I’m not used to getting anything while my car is in the shop. I’m guessing though that it varies greatly by dealer.

Oh, and for the first time ever I was thankful for my loaner. I was driving to the Barber vintage bike festival recently and when I approached a group of cars and noticed the State Trooper (tapped the brake to disengage my cruise before I saw him) I just got called out by him over the loudspeaker (“Might want to slow down don’t ya think?”) instead of pulled over since I was in a stealthy with xe.

Just before my warranty expired on my old S I put the car in the shop for a complete inspection. They had the car for a week because the shop was busy, but I drove a brand new XF for the whole week. They claim the inspection took eight hours, but no problem since they warrantied it.

Nice idea, O'Dell, I had not heard or thought of that. If they had found something, would it still have been covered by your warranty?
Thanks!

If the warranty hasn't expired, of course it's covered.

When I posted #28 above, I'd had a loaner 2018 XE from Stratstone Jaguar for a week whilst my XK was in for warranty repairs. Into the third week and I've still got the loaner.

They will arrange an Enterprise loaner, but I don't need to go into why it's subpar. I can definitely attest Porsche does not do this (I called their corporate line and asked).
Currently have my F-Type in for the same issue. I bought the car from out of state, but requested a loaner and received a new Diesel Velar. Great car.
Good thing, since they have had the car since last Thursday and tell me it will be another three days (over a week to fix the stereo).
I am holding my breath to test the stereo.
