Driver Door lock actuator replacement - it is easy?
Diagnosed my double beep while locking to be the motor inside my driver door lock actuator for my 2016 convertible. I'm thinking about replacing this myself. Has anyone replaced these and is it easy to do WITHOUT remove the windows or the window regulator?
I see on the manual that the regulator might need to be remove and moved out of the way in-order to get this out of the door so I'm wondering if anyone had been able to do it without removing it? here's a picture of the door lock actuator in question. Maybe I should leave it to a professional? I don't want mess up the window adjustment for the convertible.
I did my passenger door without bothering with the window or regulator. It wasn't really very hard although one ferrule/guide took me a while to get in place (the one on the cable just below the foam rubber on the far right in your picture). That wasn't
"hard," just awkward. I went slow and it took me around an hour, IIRC. I didn't follow the manual, just watched a few YouTube videos.

Great! thanks for the insight, I saw some YouTube videos for XF and other cars and didn't see one for the F-type but I'm assuming they're similar. Main concern was I didn't want to screw around with the window regulator.
The DTC code indicated motor issues and it seems like if I "work" the lock manually I can get it to lock electronically for a few days but then it stops working again. I'm surprised this isn't seen more often on our cars. There's also different part codes for the actuator depending the year. 2017 cars got the parts with -DG, I bought this one since I assumed there's some improvements compared to the earlier -DD and -DF parts
