Dropped!
So I got it all done, with thanks to many of you here. H&R lowering springs, Motorsport Tech spacers and MGP caliper covers. I absolutely love how it looks!

I'm not going to lie...that drop along with the spacers looks really good..but H&Rs drop is too aggressive for OC and LA roads. Be ready to chew through tires though, that drop is too aggressive to get the car's alignment back or close to spec.

Perfect!
I wish the wifey would raise my allowance so I could add some goodies Just purchased a second set of wheels for my "winter" needs and she's ready to cut me off :icon_no: |

The front camber can just barely be brought back into spec and the rear camber (not adjustable) will fall just slightly out of spec (but is actually a better track spec). |

Just how bad are those roads? I can't imagine your ruts and potholes are any worse than here in the Baltimore/DC area.
I also think it's only a matter of time before you pay the price. There's no way I'd run an F-Type dropped as much as you guys did around here. |
what price am i going to pay?

More pics please. Close ups if you will...
Ninja edit: especially the caliper covers |
How do the covers fit and look? And what model number did you use? Looks great !!
|
The covers are okay - not perfect but they sure look better than the stock calipers...

Larry I agree on the caliper covers. |
I concur. I think you'd be happier with a can of high temp red or yellow spray paint.
|
I agree, get them painted! Stance is great hope it still drives nice.
|
Not that you asked any of us to give our opinions of your caliper covers, but yes, please take them off! A cheap and easy spray will look so much better IMO.
The rest of the car looks too good to now have those covers take away from the overall look. |
I'm surprised y'all will run with a 'cosmetic' drop that will put the camber out of spec, esp given the cost of tires for these cars.
Adjustable upper arms are usually the solution, but I would think in this case a good fix would be some (drilled for the bolts) aluminum bar stock of a calculated thickness between the body of the car and the suspension members to push things back out to where they belong? Cheap fix I'd think. |

Fitment looks absolutely fantastic in that pic. I think it's beautiful.
Sometimes being too concerned about having camber "in-spec" can be over-thinking things. A little extra negative camber often has no impact on tire wear, particularly if you're using high performance tires with a limited life. As long as toe is lined up properly, you'll be fine. MGP Caliper covers are no bueno, IMO. It's a tacky mod on an otherwise classy car. |
