Exhaust install question
My new VAP exhaust just arrived (axle-back) and wanted to verify steps. After taking a peek, Looks straight forward on a base v6 without valved exhaust:
-loosen and remove clamps to midpipe -remove bracket underneath exhaust tips (2 screws attached to rear valence) -remove the 4 blue exhaust hangers - looks like 2 bolts per hanger that attach to the frame, I should remove bolts and drop with the hangers, right? -swap the 4 hangers with the rubber bushings onto the new muffler and reattach. -reverse steps above to install Is that it? Any recommendations to make things easier or to watch out for? I was planning to simply reverse the car up onto my low-incline race ramps instead of jacking it up, hopefully this gives me enough clearance. Thanks! |
That’s the process. Shoot some Liquid Wrench into the connection between the muffler and midpipe and let sit overnight. It will make the muffler removal go much easier.

And congrats, you will LOVE this exhaust!!!!!
