We are sinking faster then the sea level rises due to climate change... ..Funny thing is, its due to the ice from the last ice-age melting away from Sweden and their end of the scales became lighter : they go up, we go down !
There is a shear histeria here with the media and the Government about CO2 bordering on insanity. The green parties [ the former anarchists changed over to the greens when they realised they would get lots more support],
now turn it into a religion and here and in Belgium we start to see childrens crusades again ! I only wonder how long it will be before they start up a new inquisition and stake burnings of climate sceptics...

If you ask them why they want to soffocate everything green to save the planet, they'll admit George Carlin was right when he said: "The planet is doing just fine, the people are f*****d."
It was a funny line, but the rest of his Earth+plastic act still wouldn't give the fear mongering money grubbers the time of day.

@Unhingd . The so called "climate change scientists " calculated that if we filled the earth with trees, we could still not bond all the output oc CO2 from ICE's ... ... but they forget that the output of CO2 from 7 billion people
is much more then the CO2 output of 1 billion cars, as human " engines " run 24/7 and cars only one hour per day.
PS. I am against this whole climate change religion... ..yes, climate changes, like it always did. This "still" we made between 1900 and 2000 is like a nanosecond in the day of the world's excistance, so no wonder that seems "stable"...

If our survival is in fact at stake, that's just fine, it is a perfect example of the Earth self-regulating. "Pack your bags folks, the Earth will shake us off like a bad case of fleas... a surface nuisance."
His point is "save the planet" is arrogant self-delusion, the "green" movent is 100% focused on maintaining their selfish human comfort, even if it means suffocating everything green. But after we're gone, this beautiful blue-green ball will keep on circling the Sun and it will quickly become more beautiful than ever.
The same people will say, oh thats real helpful, he wants us to go extinct. No. He wants you to stop pretending you care about the Earth, when in fact you are 100% out for yourselves -- just like every other human being.

One day at Costco I had a note on my windshield.
The lady parked near me requested a interview for me as her new sugar daddy .
Security for my car is provided by a traditional English Guard dog protecting my car. Assuming the Airedale is awake.
She loves riding with the top down. Sitting in the seat she can just see over the windshield.

I'm agreeing with George, the troops are trying to start a Holy war for purely selfish reasons. Like all needless wars, it is organized and instigated by those who profit from it.

Lets give me an example. In 2007 I build a new house. In the Netherlands its obligatory by law to connect to the gaslines if you are within a radius of 1km. So we paid € 4400 for connecting and
one year later € 800 for disconnecting [ which is not illegal]. This because we installed a groundloop heatpump. Now heatpumps were subsidised, for existing houses [ while HP need a precise setup,
hard to achieve in an excisting house], so no subsidy. Then, since we are in a groundwater extraction zone for drinking water, I thought it would be a could idea to use pure water, not with anti-freeze in it,
just in case it leaked. For that I had to made the system 20% larger, so 20% more expensive. The whole thing cost me € 40.000,- more then a regular gas heater.
Then, as we needed more electricity, our fixed tate would have gone up from € 250 to € 1000 pa, had it not been that the heatpump could measure and adjust the loads on the 3-phases to prevent a fuse from blowing...
But we do need a lot of electricity, so we pay 3x the tax as we go above 10.000kW pa... Thats how eager government is in the Netherlands to safe the planet.... Now they want to FORCE everybody off natural gas.
And they removed the obligation to connect to the gaslines, still you have to pay € 800 to disconnect. So now we heat our house for € 1200 pa [200sqm] including hot water. Replacing the heatpump will cost
me € 10.000 in the next years, the rest of the investments will not have to be replaced ever. So cost are € 10.000 in 20yrs and € 30000,- in 100 years, plus interest, so roughly € 2000 pa.
The total of € 3.200 is about € 300,- less then if we would have chosen for natural gas. Not worth is so. We do produce around 50% of CO2 though.

True, but how does one discuss the apparent Jag inclination toward killing the gasoline F-Type? Granted, it's not in a "somebody complimented my Jag at the mall" thread. But this is an topic existential to Jaguars future customer base, both for and against.

I agree, Jim, nothing occurs in a vacuum and these matters are interconnected whether we want to admit it or not. Hiding our heads in the sand won't make them go away. As they say, sunlight is the best disinfectant. Does anyone really believe Al Gore is pure of intent?
