Default F-Type R Velocity Ap Downpipes

Battling catalytic converter efficiency codes and honestly torn between replacing with OEM ( found a really good deal) or going VAP 200 Cell + Tune. I live in OH so our testing is OBD based.

Any have the VAP downpipes fitted that wants to share their experience? Do I need a jaguar shop to install them or can any Muffler/Indy shop do it ?

I would go VAP downpipes, unless you think your car is too loud already (hint they will make your car noticeably louder). They fit up well and should withstand the pops and bangs a little better. If you really want to make your cats live longer, get a tune to reduce or remove the pops and bangs, they are hard on your cats.

Well within the capabilities of an indy shop. Its within the capabilities of a decent home mechanic. Just check with the shop and ensure they are ok installing customer supplied parts. Some will, some won't. You'd have to be on really good terms with your dealership to get them to install anything aftermarket, and I really doubt they would be willing to put in anything but OEM cats even then.

Before I worked for the company, I was able to do this install using floor jack, jack stands and basic hand tools in the floor of my garage. So any independent shop will be able to help with this.

Thanks Scott - what special notes do I need to add to the tune to resolve the P420 and P430 efficiency codes if any

Just make sure to note you have VAP 200 cel cats installed. By default, for any customer running our 200 cel cats & our ECU tune, these code issues are resolved.

Have you seen any issues with the codes coming back after the 200 Cell and tune installed ?

None that I am aware of.

Thank you !! Any additional hardware I need to order with the purchase ?

does the exhaust manifold need dropped for the install? If so I might re-do the gaskets

And one last question. - I am seeing high LTFTs 14-16%. Anything I should add to my order notes regarding the tune based on that?

No, downpipes on these cars are easy, couple bolts and clamps and they come out. Manifolds are removed with the heads, and I've never seen a gasket leak yet on them.

No, you'd have to remove engine to remove exhaust manifolds.

Based on what data logging tool? I would mention it, but once you get the tune back, I would highly recommend our own data logging tool we offer to really understand what the car is doing. We built this as most other solutions were inaccurate or inadequate.

When I installed my downpipes we replaced the clamp that connects the pipes to the center pipe. We also replaced the nuts & I had studs just in case.

I edited my previous response, but the CEL are removed with our Tune + 200 Cel Downpipes. When we go through and tune the vehicle we can remove these codes. As for the fuel trim, definitely speak with our tuning department to address those concerns.
