Factory radio.....

Well I think I received the answer(s) regarding whether an OEM (factory) satellite radio can be installed after the fact. Possibly can be done but pricey and time consuming. Another question is the car (2014 F-Type V8 S) has a "Meridian Premium Audio Sound System" at a retail price of $1,200.00. What the devil do you get for $1,200.00 (owners manual isn't of any help). Thanks for an answer(s).

you get 770 watts of power, 12 speakers and three different sound configurations apart from stereo. While there have been some complaints about rattling speakers (cured by a software update), this system in my coupe is superb in every way. I cannot speak for this system as installed in the convertible.

There were three different sound systems in the early F-Types....

Base system
Meridian 380W 10-speaker system
Meridian Surround 770W 12-speaker system

I would say you have the 10-speaker system. If the badges on the doors say "Meridian", not "Meridian Surround" then yes it's definitely the 380W system.

The 380W system was standard on the 2014 in the US, I think, so he shouldn't see $1200 on the invoice. Hmm.

+1. The 170W unit was never sold in the US.

Or in Canada. There were only the two systems, 380 watts and 770.

I need to spend the type to put some batting in around the rear speakers. Anything with even the slightest bass rattles and I have the software update.

I have a copy of the "window sticker." It reads as follows... "Meridian Premium Audio Sound System - $1,200.00"

What does the badge on the door say?

Meridian?

or

Meridian Surround?

dgromega 03-14-2019 03:08 PM

Meridian Surround
