Same here; lots of "what kind of car is that"? But I don't mind because then I get to talk about it.

I posted this on the funny bystander reaction thread after I got the car. I still think about the kid's reaction...
I had it sitting out front while I was detailing/prepping XKR for sale. Kid drives by in beater truck and slams on brakes, jumps out and says "holy $h1t, what th f$&@?: is that? Looks at me and asks if it is mine. I nod. He says he has to get one and asks if it was something like $150k or $200k? He said he didn't have enough now but was debating a new car or the house his girlfriend wants. I wished him luck with that one. |

Here in the land of Lincolns, Cadillacs, and Corvettes, the most frequent question is, "what is that? When I say a Jaguar, and they say why? I can say, "That's why."

I get the common questions, what is that, how much was it, V8 or V6.
This past weekend was a new one for me, although it appears others have gotten it, and it was: does it have a V12? Without taking the time to think, I replied with no, I only got half of the V12. Then the light changed and off I went. My son, who was with me, actually chocked a little on his drink. I had not even realized it might had been an odd response. |
Hmmm; I've gotten a "are you married?" and "do you need a girlfriend?" LOL
