I've noticed that some cars have a front grill Jag emblem with a RED background and others have a GREY background. Is there any rhyme or reason as to why - can you request one or the other or do certain models/years/colors only come the way they come. Anyone know?

 

Aren't all the F-Type's Red...?

 

I believe it is related to model year, but may be model specific within a year. All '16s are red.

 

At first I thought it was related to to be an "R" or not, but apparently it's not if all F-Types are red...

 

Model year. XF and XJ are red too.

 

Since this review is in a foreign language it offers little more that visual and sound, but I noticed right away that this car has a grey emblem when I've seen a 2015 car in black/red combo that has a red emblem. Could this car be a 2014? Are you sure all 2016's are red?

 

2014 base cars are chrome and black.

 

Ahh...gotcha. My '15 base car is red which matches my center caps.

 

My 15 R IRR has red centercaps in front and on the wheels.

 

As does my 2015 V6S.

 

All 2014 F-Types were convertibles, and the base, V6S and V8S all had black and chrome grill growlers. The red arrived with the first coupes in 2015 and began migrating over to the convertibles.

The picture thread at the top of this forum will verify that if you look at the first few pages.

 

I saw a green one on eBay.

 

started in 2014 on all models. Replaced both on my XKRs and F-Type as well as hub centers ...

 

..........RED on my MY15, F-Type S Coupe - and wheel hub centers match.

Just ordered a red one on ebay. Going to switch.
I have to say, red looks much nicer.

According to another thread here it shouldn't be to hard to switch.
