Front Washer Bottle Location

anyone kow where the front screenwash bottle is located and where piping from rer bottle runs.
Had car parked on a fairly steep slope today and there was a puddle under drivers side wheel. Warning on dashboard for low washer fluid which was just refilled on saturday.

So I am suspecting a leak somewhere

Washer reservoir is under the rear boot lid, to the right of the latch.
Yes. The REAR Boot Lid.

Don't know where the line travels to get to the front of the vehicle.

there is a secondarty washer bottle in the front IIRC a punp pumps fluid from the rear to the front as the front bottle is not accessible normally

"The plastic, molded reservoir is located in the right (front) wheel arch,
behind the liner. It is secured to the body and front panel with bolts.
A boss on the reservoir locates into a bracket mounted off the A-pillar
casting and provides additional support.

The reservoir has 2 recessed holes in the side, which provide location
for the windshield and headlamp washer pumps. The pumps are push
fitted into grommets, which seal the pumps in their locations. The
windshield washer fluid hose is integrated into the harness and so
follow it's routing. The headlamp washer hose, from the reservoir, is
routed over the wheel arch and across the body between the
headlamps.

A hole with a grommet in the side of the reservoir provides the
location for the fluid level sensor."

See section 501-16 from this 480MB document which OzXFR posted. It's specific to the V6, though presumably the V8 is the same or similar.

many thanks djs
makes sense, watter is dripping from wheel arch liner on drivers side fo either so least It looks like the fault is in or around the washer bottle

So there are two pumps? one to move the solution from the rear reservoir to the front reservoir and then a second pump to move the solution from the front reservoir to the windscreen? Doesn't seem like the Jaguar way of doing things. That second pump adds cost and weight and complexity.

DJS 04-18-2018 05:08 PM

There's a pump on the rear tank, to transfer fluid to the front tank, based on level sensors.

There are two pumps on the front tank - one for the windshield, one for the headlights.

3 pumps.

Maybe it’s the English weather. Didn’t the E-Type have three wiper blades?
