Good deal?

Is this a good deal?

MSRP $112,083
Selling price $98,500
33 Month , 10k miles per-year

This is a "PUNCHED CAR" with 1k miles on it.

ALL in, NJ tax included:
$1,050 per-month

How much lower can I get?

I can't imagine how the 10k miles works for anyone driving an F-Type. I avoid driving my car to the office to keep the mileage down, but still average over 1200 miles per month. It's just too much fun to drive.

I have 2 other cars though. My daily driver is a Maserati Ghibli S Q4 16' right now.

If I go over the miles, it's no big deal haha.

But either way, how much lower can I get on this deal?

it just depends on how far everything is from you. i work from home 3-4x days a week but the f-type is my primary car ... we only use the RR when needing to seat more than 2 people which is rare.

I struggle to put 8k miles a year driving it every chance i get.

Would love some more input on this deal!

Looking to go to the dealer tomorrow, but need to know how much more meat there is to go down in monthly price.

I love driving my F type but I have three other vehicles, including my DD and two motorcycles that I commute on in nice weather; I've averaged 400 - 500 miles per month x 6 months for the year = about 3000 miles a year. Guess I'll never need the 100,000 mile portion of the warranty! LOL

assuming no money down, $1050 WITH tax is an "OK" deal, but only is they give you 12K mi/yr or even 15K mi/yr. It is too high for 10K/yr.

uncheel 09-07-2016 04:11 PM

What model year?

The selling price currently is $98,500.
How much lower can I get on the selling price?

The car has 1k miles on it. Do you think I can get to a $93,000 selling price on a lease?

Only one way to find out. Depends on the local competition, however. 98,5 seems pretty high for a used 2016. And yes, 1000 miles = used in my book. Demo or otherwise.

It is a lease though.
I want to be at $910 a month. An $95k selling price would get me there.

I think a $95k selling price would be a good deal. $93k selling price would be a great deal.

Agreed?

consider the PenFed payment saver loan if you're willing to be responsible for selling the car before the balloon payment hits. this potentially benefits you because to the dealer it's a sale, and they might come down more on the selling price.

I am only willing to lease.

About to go to the dealer here in a bit.
Would love some more people to chime in here!

lsbrodsky 09-08-2016 08:15 AM

We swapped some PM's. Their selling price is high for a 2016, but I do not know what JagUSA is giving them. If that discount is part dealer and part Jag, then the price should be lower. The Jag rebates change every month.
Just pick your number, stand firm, and walk if they do not deal. But be sure they give you the Chase rates on the lease, not a jacked up money factor. If they do US Bank also, it seems some others have done better with US Bank.

The car is "punched" because it has 1k miles on it.

The residual is 59% for 10k miles/33 months.

The dealer told me the residual would be 58.6% because it has 1k miles on it.

Is this true?

lsbrodsky 09-08-2016 09:36 AM

Chase sets the residual, not the dealer, so it probably is true. Chase also sets a money factor, which the dealer can markup.

It's a demo car, basically...
It's not worth more than 90k to them, I'm guessing, but it's somewhat of an educated guess.
Take the lease, with a 93k selling price, or walk away. It'll almost certainly be there come end of month, and they'll give it to you then, if they don't give it to you now.

They've got PLENTY of room at $95K. I'd say easily another 5 thousand. Maybe more.
