Group Buy: VS Forged Wheels

Group Buy: VS Forged Wheels
Pulling this over from another thread.
We are contemplating a group buy from PK Design of some forged wheel sets.
Since we are unlikely to be buying 20 sets for a deep/deep discount that would require the same style and specs, we will be able to mix and match specs among the offering from VS Forged.
I am recommending the following specs:
20x11-32mm offset: will accommodate 295/30-20, 305/30-20 & 315/30-20 (though, I've not yet seen a 315/30-20)
20x9.5-49mm offset: will accommodate 255/35-20, 265/35-20 & 275/35-20
5x108 bolt pattern, 63.4mm centerbore
The front wheels weigh 20-21lbs and the rear 23-24 lbs. That's a 40 lb weight savings per wheelset over the typical OEM 20" wheel.
The underscored tire sizes are ideally suited for those wheel sizes. These offsets provide a conservative 12mm extension (vs the 15mm & 17mm adapters used by many) to safely accommodate the wider than OEM tire sizes as well as any suspension lowering that might be done.
With the group buy, we will get $200 off the posted price (per wheelset), free shipping and free lug nuts.
I am considering either the VS03 or the VS12.
We need about 5 participants. We have:

This is a tempting offer. I have been looking at aftermarket wheels since before I bought the Jag, and these are some of the best looking, lightest, and forged wheels I have seen so far.
I was wanting to buy 21" wheels, similar to the Vorsteiner set on FR500GT's car, since his was lowered and it looked like they fit very well (21x9 front, +32mm; 21x10.5 rear, +25mm). Would 21" VS Forged wheels meet this group buy requirements?
Also, will these wheels have the exact same centerbore size as the OEM (I believe it's 63.4mm) ?
Thanks for putting this together
Jay

Lance, if you are recontacting PK about the 21s, ask them about the finishes as the VS forged website only lists one to two per wheel. Is gloss gunmetal a clear finish over metal or is it painted. VS website only shows metal as far as I can see on the VS03.

I might be interested in the VS06 in gloss black.
$2400 shipped, no taxes is still current price?
I already have another extra set of tires stocked.
I don't need the extra set of nuts, but do want to know How much for another set of TMPS?
I prefer to stay at current R sizes: 20x9 & 20x10.5, so what's the advantage of the extra width of 20x9.5 & 20x11?
Can you pls simple explanation of offset?
Thanks,

offset is just moving the mounting plate away from the centerline of the wheel's width. in this case it widens the stance a hair. the advantage of the offset is being able to fit wider tires without rubbing suspension components, etc. The advantage of the additional width is being able to fit those wider tires with sidewalls closer to the ideal vertical fitment.
TL;DR: these wheel measurements mean you can safely and properly fit wider tires versus the stock wheels, adding a little bit more grip.
on-topic - I really like these wheel options. I think they look like great options. For my tastes, the stock R wheels look better, or at least equally as good. I don't race my jag so I don't see much benefit to wider tires with AWD. I'm sure they will be great wheels for many here with different tastes and needs.

Coming from the mustang world - I have had 9 different ones and still own a '98 cobra vert with 55k miles, a ton of tasteful mods, and ~500hp - I'm used to upgrading literally everything. I've bought so many wheels I don't even want to try to count them, lol. This may be the first time I own a car that isn't immediately begging for new wheels, but I'm also not hard to convince . That said, 40 lbs of unsprung weight does seem like minimal reduction... I wonder if it will really give $2400 worth of benefit. Are you road racing yours?

Regarding offset: generally the location of the hub is located towards the outside of the wheel and offset from the centerline by the mm specified. The lower the offset, the wheel face is pushed outward and the track widened. The centerbore is listed in the specs in post #1 (yes, 63.4mm)

Below is a link to a post on wheel offset that may help illustrate what it is, and how to measure it.

I think it best for people to contact PK directly to ask all your questions, so that I don't lose something in translation. On Monday, I will provide the contact person for you to reach out to at PK.

Thank you for doing this. I will call your contact at PK when you post the info.
After looking at all the styles, I think I will go for the design you prefer, VS03, in 21" diameter.. matte silver. As you mentioned, these are pretty close to the Gyrodyne stockers on my car now (albeit 5-spoke instead of 6). I can't help going up in diameter. I am running 22" 3-pc forged rims on my SRT8 now, and although I have bent them a few times I still love the look.

If you look at the specific sizes, the wheels retail at around $650 each. The discounted price (shipping and lug nuts included) will be about $2400 for all 4 wheels.

I couldn't find any Jag/VS Forged photos on the net, so I did a few Photoshop renderings of the VS03 wheels on an F-Type. I have too much chrome on the Jag to go with black or tinted wheels (IMHO), and I couldn't find any photos of the matte silver painted wheels, but the brushed aluminum worked pretty well for a rough visualization
Brushed Titanium (taken off a BMW... special order I believe):
Brushed aluminum rendering, using pics of the bare wheel (no brakes!).
Both of these show 21" wheels, or my attempt at scaling them. The concavity of the wheels is off a bit due to the photos I could find.

Just on tyre sizes, I went with 265's on the front of mine when I switched to 21 inch Vorsteiners, and 305's on the rear. It was more to get some rim protection as I hate getting them knocked on kerbs. They look huge on the front, right out to the widest part of the wheel arch at the top. At the rear they are still within the arch, but they fill it out pretty nicely. Another 5mm or so might have looked even better.
