thanks alot for the pics

it's got alot more metallic in it than i thought it would

definitely looks better in the sun - the overcast pics makes it looks almost blue'ish

We were both at the same fork in the road. You went one way, I went the other. Still waiting to see how my decision looks in the driveway. Counting the days ...

Doh, those pics have really thrown me off

the overcast pics look alot like stratus

this is what i thought storm grey would look like (in the background while talking looks like a dark grey - plates are identical to storm grey rolling shot car), but your pics show it being more of a blue/grey, especially overcast

are the pics on screen a true representation of the actual colour?

otherwise i think it's the silver wheels and chrome trim which is throwing me off, or the paint is a heavy metallic and changes hue

This colour is really difficult to pin down as it is very reactive to differing lighting conditions. In overcast it looks like the colour in the second video, in bright sunlight it's more like the colour of the car in the first video!
To me it's definitely grey rather than blue, and sunlight shows it off at its best as the metallic flecks absolutely zing.
I've only had extremely positive comments on the colour. I'd recommend trying to see one in the flesh if at all possible.

Thanks so much for posting these. I've ordered an 'R' in Storm Grey but have to wait until October 😢. Would be most appreciated if you would post some more photos 😎

My local dealer may have just been giving me lip service to get me to trade in my XFRS for an F but they claimed Jag was offering a new "bespoke" service.

Not sure if that every came to be.

No word of any bespoke F-Type activities since July of last year (Team Sky).

yep spot on, that's how storm is supposed to look

the black trim and wheels do so much for the colour

i'm excited now for my car with the black trim + ceramics/black wheels

i'd like to know if Doh's colour is in fact stratus lol

Looks like I'm not the only F-Type owner with a predilection for Saabs. I'm halfway through restoring a 900 Turbo right now. Love the 99 Turbo!

The 99 Turbo was only available for one year here in the States, so I'm keeping mine. I've also got it set up with a 5-speed. That was a trick. I needed to get some very specific non-USA parts to pull that off cleanly, but I had a Saab shop at the time, and had some connections.

Some friends and I have run a '79 900 Turbo in a few LeMons races. We've had, shall we say, mixed results. We did get prominent mention in the C&D LeMons blog though, plus a few pictures.

I'm looking to convert the LeMons car and my 78 to Megasquirt. I've been collecting parts to make that happen, and built a Megasquirt from parts. Just need time to finish that project.

The Storm Grey seems to pick up a lot of color from its surroundings. When I first saw mine it was lower light and parked next to hedge. There was definitely some apparent green. Those pictures represent it pretty well. I went with silver rims though, and think they offset the dark paint a little better.

I'm glad we get choices. I didn't want to keep seeing dopplegangers of my car.

EDIT: I was at the dealer yesterday to ask them to order the proper badge for the rear of mine, and saw a status grey there. They are pretty close.

understand the high metallic content

but i still rekon Doh's car is stratus - the biggest giveway was the first overcast pics he posted

does is say color on the build plate?

local dealer listed a my16 v6 in stratus, but it looks storm grey to me lol

Default Paint code

My paint code is 1AU. Hopefully this is Storm Grey but maybe it's any colour you want it to be! BTW watch out for stone chips as the touch up paint isn't available yet.
